I think it's along the principle of if you can flay football (urrghh..."soccer"...urrgghh) with something small like a golf ball, when you move to a football it's pretty easy.

Putting with the toe end gives a tiny margin for error - he has to be spot on both with alignment and the contact point. If he can do that, then - theoretically - putting becomes easier when he uses the putter properly.

That's a pretty standard putting drill. Put two (or 4) tees in the ground with little room between the toe and heel of the putter. This keeps your line better and prevents inside to out or vice versa from occurring on a large scale.

I think it's interesting that Vijay marks his tees for ground insertion. That way, he's consistently tee'd up with the driver everytime.

Good tip...

Probably another of the many reasons he is most hated by the Caddies. I wonder if his caddie ever said "You know, they have a new thing out call a Brush tee, can I buy you a pack out of the kindness of my heart"

I'm guessing next time I am on the course I will not only have lines around my ball but around my tee as well. Makes sense to me.

edit 1 - although thinking of this, I will probably just dip the bottom of the tee in ink, do you think I could make a device to do this and sell it for $29.99?

Pride golf tee makes tees with markings for insertion. I doubt he's got his caddie painting them. Though, if he paid me what his caddie is getting, I'd be willing to sit down with a bunch of tees and a brush...
