On-Line Handicapping

I don't belong to a members club, and I play a number of different courses. I've never had a legitimate handicap computed, but I'm considering signing up for Edwin Watts' on-line handicap system. This is tied in with NetHandicap.com.

It looks like a reasonable system, and actually gives you a legitimate USGA handicap. Has anyone used this system, either though Ed Watts or through NetHandicap? What was your experience?

Thanks.

I have been using Golfserv Advantage the past two years and have been happy with it. $29.95 a year for online handicapping service. Pretty easy to use. No problems so far.

If you want/need a USGA hcp, those work fine. It's also pretty easy to build your own using USGA regulations and Excel.

I would agree with this if you do not require an official card. After trying many different programs, I ended up with this one, as I do not require an official card. Works well and does run through Excel. It prints cards, does outings and other stuff, but I only use the handicap part. I ran out of patience on our club with constantly entering wrong scores and taking 2 weeks to update. I update after each round.

It has a 30 day trial as well.
