Thread: Big Break V

  1. I'll recap it for you Tim if you can't catch a re-run.

    From what I remember....

They had an immunity challenge that was a two-parter. The first challenge was a long drive comp where you had to get it in the grid. For every yard you were out of the grid, that yardage was subtracted from your total yardage. If you ended up in the grid, it was 25 yards added to your yardage. So if you hit one 250, and were 40 yards right, it was a score of 210. I think they did 4 drives.

Can you guess who lost? LMAO!

Not a surprise that Julie was the shortest. She had a drive off-line that ended up being 160!!! So she had to wait for one of the other two to do the elimination challenge.

Jeanne and Ashley went to the putting green and had a putt-off. 4 spots. Total low score. No fireworks, they both two-putted every one. Yippee. SO they created a 5th spot and played a play-off. Ashley finally holed it for a 1 on her 4th or 5th try. It was only like 15 feet and they got a read off each other each time. Brutal.

So it was Julie vs. Jeanne in a 3 hole STABLEFORD playoff to see who was elminated. Having stableford just sucked. A bogey was -1, a par was +1. A double was -3, a birdie was +2 I think. I can't really remember, but bogey/par was -1/+1. Jeanne parred, Julie bogeyed.

Julie was feeling the pressure from the fairway on #2 and cold-topped one. Brutal. Jeanne parred, Julie bogeyed. So now Jeanne is up 4 points. If it were just stroke play, she'd only be down two strokes. So she kind of needed Jeanne to screw up, and they were playing a par 5, just what Julie needed.

I think they both parred or something. Julie had to lay-up, of course, so Jeanne just laid up closer. There is a huge advantage when you are longer than your opponent. You always get to see where they are and act accordingly.

It was a little bit unfair to do a long drive contest for immunity. Granted, they probably have everything they are going to do mapped out months before the actual competition. I'm sure that's the case, so it makes it a little more fair. At least the actual elmination was playing 3 holes. Julie choked and totally gagged on it. She never put any pressure on Jeanne.

So it's Ashley vs. Jeanne for all the marbles. I think Ashley will tear it up. Though, it might be close. It should be a good match for a little while anyway.

Good call, Augster. It was a good match for the first few holes, then Ashley tore Jeanne to shreds. Or should I say, Jeanne tore herself to shreds, and Ashley did what she needed to do. I think the right horse won the race.

Jeanne lost her short game. Happens to everybody.

Thunderthighs is just a big bully. Bet she doesn't make the cut at the LPGA tournements.

  4. Well, my pick had to lose sooner or later. Glad to see Jeanne make it to the final pairing.

As much as I disliked Ashley earlier in the series, she is definitely worthy of taking home the BBV title. She just seems to make clutch shots when she needs to. The last few weeks I have gained more respect for her game and hope she does well with her opportunity.

I am not sure what they are going to do with BBIV. 8 woman and 8 senior men. I was sent a survey a month or so ago about the options for BBIV and that was the least favored format in my opinion. I would rather see the seniors go at it or the woman go at it. I dislike the whole men vs. woman aspect that the reality shows seem to be leaning towards (not that I watch any reality shows other than Big Break, but you can not help but be bombarded with all the commercials for the other ones.)

I certainly wouldn't know anything about that. In order to lose something, one must have it.

Amen, none of those girls makes the cut at an LPGA Event. Although the prize package could really go a long way to making their game better. Ashley has a lot of room for improvement. Her swing looks like Shite.
