they are not the best balls out there..please state your references instead of making blind statements like that in the future..the only best balls are the ones that never get lost.

I had a kid ask me what "experienced Golf-Balls" were. I told him they were balls that had already been played on that course and knew thier way around so they won't get lost

My references are quite obviously the shots I've hit with Pro V1s.And 2 bizarre rounds with the TX-4.The ball was awful into a breeze.

Seriously, my favorite ball is the V1X. But the HX Red and Tx4 work just about as well

they are the shit for a low handicapper, but it does not make a huge difference outside of that. I love them though. They are expensive, but I have found a bunch. I think I have some from last year too.

They are the best balls out there. Period. If you don't like them, you are doing something wrong I would guess.

They are nearly impossible to cut or damage. When I play somewhat consistently, I've played a single V1 well over 100 holes. 4 or 5 rounds with the same ball without a scuff or scrape. Grass stains, yes.

The V1x is a far superior ball due to being 10-15 yards longer. The pros have absolutely no problem backing up the V1x, so that isn't a problem at all.

If you REALLY feel you dislike the V1 or the V1x, make sure you are putting the seam vertically down your target line when you are on the tee. It's MORE important with the V1 to do so as I have noticed that the V1 will spin MUCH more offline on bad contact than the V1x will.

Price point, yeah they are expensive. Buy them used off of Ebay in lots. About a $1.50 a ball is what I end up paying usually. Being that they don't scuff or cut, the balls I have bought always look virtually new.

Tiger wins tourneys DESPITE playing an inferior ball. If he played the V1x, he'd win each and EVERY time out.

I don't think you can say that, Tiger's ball is made specifically for him, it is nothing like the ones that are available to the general public, I'm sure if he were to play the ProV1X, it would have to be tweaked so as to meet his specific desire in a golf ball.

Do you have ANY data to back this claim up? I highly doubt it.

If the Nike ball that Tiger plays was in any way inferior to him, he'd play the ProV or other. He has no contractural obligation to play it. So why would he if it wasn't up to snuff?

Golf balls are very personal. What works for one is the bain for another. And I'd like to think that a guy with Tiger's game would know what's best for him.

Just wait til the USGA makes the ball being used in play the same across the board for every competitor. If you think that would shut guys down like Tiger, Vijay or Ernie, you're so wrong. They would just adapt thier game to the new ball.

Love the ProV1 - don't care for the X though. I find the V1 just as long due to the fact, that I don't get a lot of spin off the driver.

VT

I played 2 balls on my own last week and side by side, one V1 and one V1X. I found quite a difference.Occassionally the X would really fly,I mean sometimes 5 yards on just a seven iron.I can only assume the X is more prone to inconsistent striking, hence why I agree with you,I prefer the standard ball. And I don't regard myself as inconsistent either!

If I didn't play up here, I would use them. After my last two golf vacations, and 2 other trips to where we used to live, I now am convinced that this area is a golf ball sucking vortex. If I play in this area, and mainly on my home course, I go through any where from 3-9 golf balls in a round. In the 8-10 rounds I have played outside of this area, I have maybe gone through a dozen combined.

Great ball, but entirely to expensive for me.
