I know it's not the same, but it's -5C here this morning.

It has been a wierd year for weather. It's suppose to be back up to 22C by the end of the week.

We've had record highs and record lows in the last few weeks. I'm all about the record highs when it's winter.

Yeah, we popped back up to +9C today. Supposed to get up to around +11 or 12 by the end of week. Snow almost all disappeared over night.

Rain is good, but now I want it to stop raining and just be nice weather.

Weird fluctuations. We were near record lows last week and now we're heading toward record highs.

I think it has been that way all over North America this winter....very few days where the temperatures are Average for that date. Either much warmer or colder than normal.

I've played golf in shortsleeves in Dec and January and then today - our high here was only 39F. Our average high for this date is 54....

They're calling for +1 tommorrow here. This in contrast to the 2 weeks consecutively of -40. Normals are around -22 for the low, -16 for the high (all in Celcius, obviously).

Go figure.

Canadians Are Tough

Hey I live in southern Ontario and it does not get as cold here as it does out west. But damn I hate cold weather anymore, must be something to do with getting older, blood gets thinner maybe? If it goes below -20C here I am not to enthused about going outside in the morning and jumping in my car to head to work!
Oh well, as we say in Canada "Gotta be tough to live in this crappy weather eh"
BRING ON THE SPRING SO WE CAN GO OUT AND SWING

Dude, we have crazy weather in BC today. It was 12* in Vancouver when I woke up, and !! +17 !! in Abbotsford (about 30 minutes East) - at 8AM!

So weird. We're also being washed into the ocean, but hey.

Tough?? You wanna talk about being tough Master? Hey we golf in shorts when it is 6C here in Canada Hell we don't bother getting our winter jackets out until it goes down to -10C. Winter boots, don't own a pair, wear sneakers all winter, flip flops all summer! Sold my new winter coat, never wore it. BBQ stays out all winter, fire it up and grill some steaks when it is snowing! Heck I don't turn the furnace on in my house until mid December! Plus we got mean SKEETERS & BLACKFLIES that suck the blood out of you in the summer!
Oh we are tough here in Canada, but we just like to bitch about our weather. Gives us something to talk about since there is no National Hockey being played this year. Come on over to Canada, we will welcome you with open arms

So I guess now is a good time to mention that it will be around 68F today.

Looks like another January round in shorts for me.

I know of a littel town here in Manitoba that used to have a winter golf tourney. It was nine holes on a frozen lake. We used thos rubber practice balls and one club. It was great. It went no matter what the weather was.

Hey Dude what happened if there was a Chinook pass through and the lake was not frozen over . Kind of hard to play on that lake then!
There is a 9 hole course in London ON that tries to stay open all winter, the guy sometimes shovels the greens off. Ok, tees and greens are clear, but I can't figure out what you do when you hit the fairway! Orange balls maybe?

We never ran into that problem. They also used to have this thins were theyd take an old beater car to the middle of the lake and let it freeze intot eh ise. The they'd take bets on the date which it would fal into the lake in the spring.
