You didn't ask for advice on which courses to play, so here goes...
If you are only going for a weekend, then take a drive and play Paiute (especially the Wolf course). It is a magnificent, tough, but fair, Pete Dye track. I go to Vegas every year, and always bring my clubs. It is the one course I try to play regularly. If the wind is blowing, bring your sense of humor...
Angel Park and TPC-Canyons are very nice (Canyons is a pretty tough course). Painted Desert is an interesting course.
I lament the passing of the old Desert Inn course, but have heard the new Wynn course is pretty special. Unfortunately, you have to stay at the Wynn hotel, which is PRICY.
Shadow Creek is in a class by itself. A Pebble Beach, St. Andrews type of destination. Some day I will pony up the cash to play there.
Next year, I plan on playing the Royal Links course. Re-creations of famous links course holes. How cool is that?
Reflection Bay and Wolf Creek are also at the top of my "must play" list.
Have a great time, and let us know about the golf. Everything else "stays in Vegas..."
