Ezra you were not one of the doubters I was talking about

I was just telling you, that looking like a WWF wrestler is not required either, cause at a Buck sevnty-five I most certainly do not. I have fairly decent muscle tone, but the flexability of a slinky, and the arms of an orangutang. I am a mutant!

Another important fact

I wasn't saying that it flew that far, just that they were going off the range at 320. Don't get me wrong they are bouncing off the range but they are definitely leaving the area.

Hah. Pitiful Mortals. I had a 340 yard drive on Saturday. Of course, there was a 50 mph wind at my back, but thats just a minor detail. I turned around and hit the next one 215, dead nuts. Pin high on a 340 yd par 4, then hit driver 3-wood back into the wind on the 420-yard hole after that and still had 30 left in. I have had a 390 yard drive before. 450 yard par 4, downhill, with a 5-10mph wind at my back, and it hit the downslope and just kept rolling over hardpan. I'm a decently long hitter with a graphite shafted driver. In the summer i can usually eke out 310 including a large amount of roll, probably 270 carry. I can hit the 260 yd 9th with a 3 wood, the 324-yd 1st if i really crunch a drive, the 330-yd downhill second if i nuke one, and have hit 9-iron over the 475-yd 5th at my course. Then again, that was with a 46" 8.5 degree driver and nearly zero control. I've rolled it back to about 250 carry. 280 with roll, and im scoring better because im in play

When I first started playing I thought I could hit further than I really can. (not saying this is the case) My regular course was a cheap public course and the yardages were definitely listed a bit longer than actual. This is either Billy Bob walking off the yardages or a clever gimmick to get guys like me to think I could really bomb it there. Then I played a few decent courses with real, accurate yardages. I lost 15 yards immediately. I suppose the true test is to drive a green at a course with accurate yardages.

I once hit a ball 525 yards. Zero wind, uphill. I've also hit a ball over the Space Needle in Seattle. Think i'm lying? Check this...one time I hit a ball over Mt. Rainer. All carry. My driver is 84 inches long. I'm just so damn long. My 9 iron is flying about 210 right now. 135 yards to the pin? Choke down lob wedge. I've found it hard to adjust to this, but i'm not complaining. You will probably see me Monday qualify into the Bellsouth Classic. Anyway, just thought i'd let all you know who's really big time, me.

Right ok, if you hitting a LW 135 you are not a good golfer, you obviously have no control over it, and are hitting it 110%. Grow and stop talking crap. And you wont even pre qualify for the minday qualifier.

Don't agree with that mate i CAN hit 300yrd drives, but not very often i would say im at about 270-280 average, however my tempo for my irons is a lot slower so im consistent with my distance and have control. therefore my 7 iron is for around 160-170 yards out, im sure i could hit it further, however i would rather be consistent.

Me too. So if it plugged into the fairway I would pull it out, clean it off and hit a 6iron.

Watch the whole clip. You have to suffer through some crappy video, but it gets good about a fourth of the way through.

Ahem. Back to the subject at hand: Remax Long Driving Competition

I urge all mutants, muscle-boys, gorillas, and internet posters to plunk down their hard earned cash at their nearest sanctioned event, swing away, then post the results. I will, if I can get a driver in my hands that I can consistently hit in the sweetspot.

Rock, despite your derision, I think the reason I hit the G2 30 yards better than my 983K, with the same lesson-less swing, is that I was hitting the ball in the much larger sweetspot. I could feel it, which is more than Mrs. Rock could say.

Hey Butch,

Are you in Seattle area? Cause if so, I acn settle this question in a couple of weeks, somewhere in Tacoma. I live in Olympia and play at Capitol City golf course, I use their range most of the time, but have been known to go out to Airport Golf down here too.
As for a Pic for Sling, you want one of me touching the floor with the back of my wrist's, I can do that. Some people have a hardtime touching their toes, I am not even close to extended at that point.

Thats not it

But if we are in the same area, we should get together and hit a few. You would be firsthand witness to the disaster that is my game. I can drive the piss out of the ball and hit my wedges pretty good, it's every thing else I suck at. Although I am working on it, and have set my goal for hitting in the 80's this year.
