Cleveland Hi-Bore Driver Results

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to post my feedback on the New Hi-Bore Driver from Cleveland.

Ok, here's the results! It's Just Amazing!

The folks from Cleveland were in town and invited me over to get fit for the Hi-Bore. They had the Hi-Bore in just about every combination of degrees and shafts. I hit the club close to two hours, trying different combinations and trying to play different shots with the driver.

The club sets up nicely to the eye and looks very clean. I really enjoyed the positive feedback the club gives you when struck solid. A crisp strick of the golf ball gives a very positive sound that makes you feel like you couldn't hit it any better.

I'm not one to change equipment at all and cleveland has been trying to get me to switch to their driver, the only thing not cleveland in my bag.
So goodbye TaylorMade R580. Hello, Hi-Bore.

I'm hitting it again next week to make my final choice of shaft and flex. I'm between the NV 65 or the new NVS 65 in either a S or X. I'm falling right inbetween but I want to see how the shafts perform again. I've settled on the 8.5 loft which has always been perfect for my swing.

For me, it's what I look for in a club. I would give it a try and see if it fits your own game.

I also hit the new Blades. I play the TA-1's from cleveland and have loved them from the start. The new CG1's and the Black Pearls are great. I will be also switching to the new blades and wedges as well. They felt so pure when striking the ball. I'm going to test out a bunch of shafts for the irons to see what feels the best and I'm also putting on mahogany leather wraps on them. There going to look really nice.

I had a hard time going to sleep last night thinking of my new clubs.
What a great start to the season.

Matthew

Matt,

Great post. The review on the Hi Bore is great!

Questions:

How is ball flight/height affected by the new CG?

Does the head look "long" at address?

How deep is the face in comparison to your TM?

How's the finish? Matte or gloss? Does it seem better than the Launchers of past?

What shaft offerings besides the NV did they have? V2? Fuji?

Thanks Matt, I appreciate the efforts.

The ball has a bit higher flight with the new design. I think the head looks great. Not really any gloss on the head. Does not look large or uncomfortable to look at. It sets up really well and again has a great look to it and nice lines. I think it's the best they have made. Just my thought!

They had every shaft option except the new NVS.
