Daylight Savings Time

change is tonight, or more correctly, 2AM Sunday morning.

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead, or you'll be late for your tee-time. All those living where the snow hasn't melted yet may sleep in without consequence.

Thanks for the reminder Doc. This next month is my favorite time of the year. The added hour after work gives me enough sunlight to hit the range after toiling in the paper mine. And it's not yet too hot. Another couple of months and the extra sunshine after work becomes a rotisserie oven. Only choice is to play at 7:00am in the Florida summer.

Next year, we'll be turning the clocks ahead two weeks earlier, I think.

I like this. I don't like losing the hour of sleep, but I much prefer that hour of daylight in the evening, mostly because I've never been a morning person.

I don't understand the rationale behind DST. Wouldn't it make more sense to move the clocks ahead in the fall, so that the shorter winter days have an extra hour of sunlight in the evening? I mean, what's the point of adding an extra hour of sun in the morning? I heard it was so kids can have sunlight at the bus stop in the AM. I also heard something about energy saving. Neither makes much sense.

Of course, for the Canadians that extra hour means they get sun at lunchtime. Do the Canadians even use DST?

The timing couldn't be any better. The course that is directly (sort of) between work and home just opened yesterday, and they have a special twilight rate of $15 after 4:00pm. " Honey, I'll be late for dinner. Got some work I just have to finish."

At that point, it's about the morning light hours. At least around here, where I'm fairly close in latitude to Washington, New York City, etc, if you kept the clocks pushed forward an hour it would still be nearly dark around 8 AM.

That's not true. I change them everytime I change the clock "back" or "ahead".

SWMBO reset the clocks last night, only she moved them back instead of forward.....I still made my 8:22 Tee time.

Do you guys not have DST there? I know a few provinces don't, but never really looked into which ones...I thought you might be one of them, though.

We do it, I kinda like it, really. Was light until around 8pm last night. Good stuff!
