Tickets For Augusta

Gents,

I am based in the UK and a real newbie to Golf as a whole. One of things I have wanted to do for a long time is to come to the Masters in Augusta, GA. Where is the best place to buy tickets for this event?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Roger.

Master's badges are one of the hardest tickets to get in the entire world. Augusta National closed the waiting list somewhere around 20 years ago. If a patron gets caught selling his tickets, his name is removed from the list. That being said, you can usually find Master's badges at some of the ticket brokers, but they'll run around $1000 each. If you're really willing to take a risk, you can sometimes find scalpers with tickets outside Augusta National on tournament days. But you have to be very careful, many of the scalped tickets are forgeries.

If you're coming from another country, the best bet (and most expensive) would be the ticket brokers.

They closed the waiting list 20 years ago?? Wow, being new to the game, I had no idea...I think you give good advice on going to reputable broker. I will start hunting now.

Many thanks.

I hope to one day (and I hope that the Lord God above grants me this wish) visit Augusta National Golf Club, regardless of what capacity the visit is in...

Several of the online ticket brokers are already listing a 4-day badge for the 2007 Masters. Right around $3000 for Thursday - Sunday.

Practice round tickets are going for around $300.

About 15 years ago, a friend's father had tickets for the final round and was going to let his son and I go. At the last minute, my buddy had to work and wasn't going to be able to go. His dad gave them to someone else. I darn near cried.

Forget it. Augusta National is a very closed society. I have a cousin who works the tourneys for the networks and has done the Masters for the past twenty years (started the year after Jack..). He can't even get his wife on the grounds.

Trying to get patrons badges is impossible legally. Back when I was a kid, they were available and cheap. Who knew?

For an interesting read about the history of the Masters:

Masters Tickets The Safe Way

99, Masters tickets are tough to come by. It's true you can't get them from Augusta and the Waiting list is no longer available. You can find scalpers legally at Augusta but they have to stay x-amount of meters away from the grounds and with any ticket demanding such a high price you are at risk of buying a forged ticket. The higher the ticket price the more likely criminals will risk forging a ticket.

Ticket brokers are your safest bet. I work for one of them (TickCo.com). Shop around for the best price and feel free to contact me if you're curious if a site is trustworthy or not. Of course I can only recommend my Company but there are a lot of trustworthy sites out there offering Masters tickets. Just stay away from eBay and scalpers, 'cause you never know.

TicketsNow
RazorGator
TickCo

Those are all sites I have confidence in referring you to but please choose TickCo if the price fits. Look at it this way, you already know someone there if you need help.

All the Best,

Smart way of advertising though. Make one name to ask the question, and by the time everybody feels its legit because the orginal poster hasn't tried to push any company....make another name to answer the question.

the Augusta national is located on the busiest road in Augusta...shopping malls, fast food joints, strip malls, traffic, strip joints, hotels, and a bunch of trash is within walking distances......Watching the Masters on TV one would think the coarse is located in a beautiful place with gorgeous, peaceful surroundings...........

theres folks/scalpers selling tickets from the side of the road......if you want to go that route.

If he would have said PM me if you are looking for a reputable broker would that have been more PC? I am assuming you came down on him since he is not a sponsor and was advertising for free.

... now if anyone here owns a hospital and is interested in some healthcare billing software, I am the guy who knows how to get things... they call me "Red"

DaGris,

In the last couple of years, the ANGC has been busy spending it's billionaire members' loot quietly buying up adjacent homesites across Berkman Road.......and tearing down the houses, leaving seemingly manicured parkland.

I go this way every couple of weeks on my way to Publix, and it is amazing. Only tall randomly spaced pine trees remain, amongst acres and acres of vacant lots. Now you can really see the rolling terrain of this area of Augusta.

The word is that ANGC will only use this land for tournament parking, thus freeing up land inside the fence for a bigger driving range and practice facilities.

Knowing the utter incompetence of our local government, this leads me to the question:

How will the local property tax rolls be affected by this? Will the local goverment collect the same amount of tax money on vacant land as it did on land containing many $500K homes?

Probably not.

In addition, the National Hills Shopping Center across the street is scheduled to be torn down within the next year......to build a condo complex.....for the Augusta National Golf Club. When I was a teenager, this was the newest shopping center in town, with the best movie theater. Sadly, as the middle class moved further out of Augusta into Martinez and Evans, all of the older shopping centers became run down.

I think the ANGC would like to own all the land within a half-mile radius of the club, and they probably will one day.

I think it may have been because the thread was 2 years dead, and out of his 4 posts he had dug 2 threads that where 2 years old, one 6 months and started a new one, all to advertise that he was a broker.

One saying you shouldn't trust eBay, but you can trust his company because you know someone who works there, for which I doubt anyone here really knows or can trust him as far as they can throw him. Accept for maybe Crossfire, from what I saw in the Benchpress thread. At least on eBay you have prior feedback to make an educated choice.
