The people who are ctiticising Tiger Woods for this should go the fridge and pour themselves a large frosty glass of STFU. Spaz is not a derogatory term. If he had said putted like a retard then that would have been out of line. Spaz simply denotes someone who doesn't have their emotions in check. It has nothing to do with being handicapped in any way whatsoever. Tiger Woods does more charitable work than most people realize. He has a big heart and a competitive spirit. Tiger owes no one an apology.

I personally find that trivial. Politically correct. Let's see, that would be all the words that used to be a socially acceptable terms associated with a behavior. And now it is no longer socially acceptable because it is to commonly associated with that behavior.

Hopefully I do not sound like a racist bigot. Examples I would site, retard used to be the socially acceptable term for the mentally retarded. There are now certain racial terms 50 years ago where the socially acceptable terms, now you risk being shot if you choose to use them. Not sure I find much harm in the word Spaz. It does not appear it was done in poor taste, but then again it may be a language barrier between cultures. It seems like it is getting to the point that they use abbreviations, and the abbreviation are becoming unacceptable. I guess the years I spent in the medical profession and working with Mentally retarded clients and all of my psychology classed desensitized me to a lot of this. I am sure they have been called much worse. I haven't been in the industry in close to 20 years so I only hope that the term mentally retarded is still acceptable, then again, in 20 years it may very well have gone from acceptable to non-acceptable and back to acceptable. It just amazes me that you have someone like Woods who has shown absolutely nothing but good nature catching flack for something like this. I guess that is what happens when you simply judge words and not intent.
