FAO "The Rock" / Anyone else with 'Pured' Shafts

Hi guys.

Just wondering if any of you have found *any* difference, whether it be good or bad, with 'pured' golf shafts.

I was absolutely bombing my driver before I had it pured, but I am convinced that I am not getting the same penetration in the ball flight. Could this be at all possible ?? My 1-handicap friend feels the same way about it as he has hit my club both "before and after."

The shaft feels a tad softer, and not as powerful and capable of hitting as penetrating a flight.

Am heading back to the place where I had it Pured either today or tomorrow, so I am just gonna tell him what I feel about the situation.

Thanks,
Andy.

When you have your shaft "PURED" there are two ways they can place the spine to keep it aligned. The most common is to have the spine in the 3 o'clock postition for a right hander (right hand side of the shaft parallel to the target line on the opposite side of the ball) which will be the softest flex possible on the shaft and the plane of least deflection. Stonger players or well skilled players sometimes prefer to have the spine in the 9 o'clock position as it will still provide a very stable swing plane but will allow more workability compared to the tradional position and be stiffer than the original position.

Maybe the folks who PURED your shaft will be willing to turn the shaft 180* for you or you can do it yourself if you have the equipment.
