Interesting observation

I have been walking the bike trail through the upper end golf course out here by my house. The trail is a county owned park of sorts, it winds through 2 different golf courses and in my walks over the last couple of weeks, I have found a few golf balls. Imagine that. Anyhow I now own 7 Pro V's, a couple of the Titleist DT so/lo's, a Nike One black about 4 top flites a Nitro(Yeah that just sounds like a quality ball) and a Cougar, and one Dunlop gold. Missing from my walks are any Callaway balls, I would have thought that I should have found at least one by now. Just an odd observation.

Check the fairways. Bound to find them there.

Yeah I thought that might be it

But at 4 bucks a ball for the Pro V's, I have to wonder.

I'm suprised you haven't found any warbirds. Any Maxfli Blackmaxs are keepers. I play them and I love them. I also don't lose many of them.

I'd have thought you'd only find crap. No ProVs/Callaways or anything. I usually think: "Anyone crap enough to hit a ball into the trees shouldn't be playing expensive balls"

Titleist and Callaway would be out of ball business if this was the case.

I find so many ProV's it's not even funny. I think the hype they get makes guys think they'll be Ernie Els if they play the right ball.

I buy expensive balls (Callaway HX.Tour 56) because I rarely lose them. If I lost 1 a round, I wouldn't buy expensive balls. I'd be playing Wilson Smart Cores.

Rock,

Thanks to my evening walks and the fact that I have only been playing one or two rounds a month, I can play expensive balls and lose them. My shag bag for out behind the house is filling nicely too. I have two levels of balls the ones for the course and the ones I hit behind the house with my wedges.

I haven't even had to buy any balls this year and I have been playing Callaways and Titleists. I find atleast 2 or 3 top-of-the-line balls every round. I have never spent more than $20 for balls. It is pointless when I can find what I want by walking off the fairway 10 feet. I swear, I dont think people even look for there balls if they aren't in plain sight.

I'm with Dave on this one. I have a shoebox full of ProV1's, Callaway's, etc. Any Nike's I find go to my wife, since that's her ball of choice.

I used to pick up any found ball and I've got two huge boxes full of crappy balls. Now unless it's one I'd play with, I leave it out where someone who might use it can get it. Most balls are in almost new condition and I play with those. I've got boxes of unused new balls I've been given because I end up playing with found balls I don't mind losing.

Every Time I play and get stuck behind some old guys that refuse to let me play through, I drop my bag on the tee and head off into the woods that surround the course. I normally return with pockets full of balls but never more than 1 callaway.

Do you have many trees where you play? I usually take a little walk along the treeline on certain holes and pick up a few.

Rough is way to close to the fairway for me

I am usually off in the woods well beyond the rough.
