Playing the US

For US golfers (or ROTW, if you want to join in)

Friend of mine has a goal of at least setting foot in every state in the USA before he dies. He calls it "capturing" the state. I've decided my goal is to play at least one round of golf in every state in the US, but I'm way behind schedule.

So far, I've played in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, New Mexico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. My travels this summer should allow me to "capture" Oregon and Alaska.

I'd also like to add some foreign destinations, but so far all I've got is Mexico.

Anyone else have this as a goal, and how close are you to accomplishing it?

I have Florida, Arizono, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming and Alberta. I included Alberta as it has a big oil reserve, so it's sure to be on the US radar soon enough.

Do I get a prize for being the most spread out accross the US?

Alaska would be tough. Not to play, just it's geography.

Helps that my wife plays, too. She's not as obsessed with teh game as I am, but she can kind of understand.

I have georgia, nevada, arizona, Illinois, wisconsin, Iowa. Spread out, just need to fill in the gaps.

I have Kentucky, Georgia, Kansas, South Carolina, Texas, and Germany. Next month will be able to add Hawaii.

Because of my wife's total lack of interest in all things golf it makes it much easier for me to ho new equipment so I guess there's an upside to that too.

Had I started playing at an early age I would be close. Although I have only been playing for close to 6 years.

I have been in every state but Hawaii and Alaska.

In 6 years, I have played golf in PA, KS, NJ, DE, MD, VA, SC, NC, FL, AZ, NV, NJ, LA. I will probably be adding CO, MO, NY, CT, MI an possibly a few more to that in the next year. Never really a goal but will certainly be obtainable. Canada (Niagara Falls) is the only non-US area I have played.

I would love to get to them all but there just ain't no way for me...My main goal at this point is both Scotland and Ireland. I missed the big Scotland trip in 2005 and am hoping to make our Ireland trip which we are considering for 2007.
