Unhappy Hooking My Utility club

Hi folks was just after a bit of advice.

I currently have a RAM 18' FX Utility club with a Regular flex graphite shaft, the problem i have with this club is that shots with it quite often turns into nasty hooks.
I do not have this problem with any of my steel shafted irons or my graphite shafted woods. If anything i am more likely to go a little the other way.

I was thinking that a large problem with it might be with the shaft, as it does feel like it has more flex then others.
I'm i thinking along the right lines?

Would i be best getting a steel shafted club instead?

Thanks for your help peeps

Yup, go for a stiffer flex.

I would guess that it may be the shaft. When my swing became to fast for regular flex shafts, my shot was either a nasty hook or a push.

Although I wouldn't rule out that it may be a result of the club having a closed face as well. The TM Mid is this way, and I heard from a ton of people it is a hook machine. I can speak from experience after demoing the club that it is true. My ball flight is a draw bias, and I would say I hit a hook over 50% of the time with the mid regardless of the 3-4 shafts I tried. Not sure how you can get the specs on the Ram to find out about the clubface, I think the Ram Clubs are on the Tommy Armour website, but I am not sure that you will find the specs on the club.

You may go demo the club with a stiffer shaft and see, if you get the same result, it may have a closed face.

After the first post, I pulled up a pic of the FX Utility, and it does, indeed appear to have some offset. This was my initial thought too , FKA. But I didn't want to muddy the waters.

So you guys reckon it may be because of the off-set.

I dont get these problems from any of my other clubs and they all have off-set on them.
This is really confusing the hell out of me, lol.

I can hit the club straighter if i really slow down my swing, but by doing this i loose distance and any rhythm that i have in the swing!
I will get about the same distance as my 6 iron.

It may be the offset. Many hybrids are closed or offset to prevent slicing. I hooked the crap out of my TaylorMade rescue dual for that very reason. Now it's in the used bin.
