I have HAD IT with my putting!!

I SUCK!!

I am going to try the Boomerang, new putters, psychiatrists...maybe even a BJ will help.

It's killing me.

I love my new driver and my iron game is decent. Then I get on the green and knock it five feet short or six feet long...

Arrggghhh!!!

I have always figured that it is the part of the game of the golf that takes the least amount of time / effort to make better.

Buy yourself a 2-ball,
stand with you eyes directly over the ball,
bend forwards and over it from the waist,
keep your head steady and rock the shoulders back and forth,
keep your grip pressure light (poss. the best golfing tip I have had !),
keep the angle of your left wrist constant and push through to the target with slight acceleration.

Perhaps I am insulting your intelligence by telling you that sort of stuff, but hope that perhaps one of the above helps ya to start holing out more often....!

I'd like to try the 2-ball. I have been putting with the same putter for 16 years. It is a tiny T-Line putter that looks like the old Wilson 8802 with a small alignment line perpendicular to the head.

Which 2-ball do you have? Is it offset? Center shaft model?

Bravo, can you still sink the do-overs. You know, miss a putt, get pissed and drop a ball and then sink it like it was nothing.

If so, you're problem may be between the ears even though buying new stuff is always fun.

During my last putting slump I started playing a mind game imagining that I'd had missed the putt during my setup. Then I would take the stroke as if it was a do-over. Sounds lame but I got over the slump.

I have it on good authority that copious masturabation is a cure for bad putting.Or was it a new putter, practice and a lesson? I can't remember which. But I feel your pain,I am thorugh the other side of a bad putting spell, the worst in 20 years,I fell apart, until I changed my putter and had a lesson, and practiced hard.So its defo not masturbation then.

dave: I'll try your technique and get back with you on the results.

May be a bit sticky though.

Andy: You will be pleased to know I am following your instructions to the letter. At lunch, I went out to Golfsmith and bought a used Odyssey 2-ball for $99 plus tax. And they were nice enough to throw in a new clubcover too.

I am becoming Shottalk's newest Club Ho. New driver three weeks ago, gonna put in an Aldila NV 75 shaft in my Sonartechy 3 wood and got the 2-Ball putter today.

YUP...Ima gonna buy me a game.

Mine is a 14*...yesterday I was 275 out on a Par 5 and drilled a low liner like frozen rope with mine. Only got about 10 feet off the ground....but it still rolled out to 250. I was about 10 yards off the front fringe and about another 15 to the center..I am looking forward to the Aldila because I think I will be able hammer it better...

Really pleased with the price and hope it is in good shape.

Try putting with your eyes closed.
I know, it sounds stupid but it will tell you how to fix your putting.
When you putt with your eyes closed you can't make adjustments mid swing and you will be able to tell if you are missing left or right.
Fix that and t Will give you the confidence to swing away and you will then be able to judge distance better.

I am going to try it...I am determined to fix this. I used to be a good putter and now I am a noodle-case. Putting is clearly 90% mental and the other 10% is mental....

I know I'm late with this suggestion because you've already bought a 2 ball, but I was struggling like hell with my putting. Bought a £200 Scotty, putting still shit. I took the Scotty back with in the 2 weeks so I could get a full refund. While at Bob's they had some Nike Belly putters in. I have always hated the look of Belly putters and picked it up fully expecting to justify my haterad of them. To my suprise I holed about 20 10 footers in a row. I went home and purchased a Ping G2 Craze belly putter off ebay and have not looked back since. It's so easy to take straight back and through and judge distance with. I should have tried this years ago, custom fitting is all the range these days and I've got a belly so getting the putter to match should have been an obvious choice.

I tried the 2ball thing and hated it. I am back to the Scotty now and putting better than ever. I found the 2 ball hard to judge the speed with on putts. I didn't give it much of a chance tho.

Too bad B - you could have had mine a white steel version for $90

If that doesn't work, try human sacrifice. Maybe start with Steve "the Big Dog" Duemig. Hey. it can't hurt....
