Golf in London?

I know we have a large # of golfers in this forum that live accross the pond. I will be traveling to London in Sept. and would like to get in 1 round of golf. Looking foreward to sightseeing but can live without the shopping. I plan to give the missus a truck load of $ to shop so I can golf. As I can't afford more than 1 truck load of $ that means 1 round of golf! Any courses near London I can play that will rent clubs (I hate to rent clubs)? If I have to I can take the Tube or whatever they call the subway.

Well I'm going down to London soon and taking my clubs so I'll tell u about the best course's but I should warn you some are really expensive.

Adam, thanks for the reply. How long and how inconvienient is it to get to some courses just outside London.

I lived in Epsom for 5 years and can heartily recommend the RAC club.Epsom is alos a nice place to stop,they have a Travel Inn in the centre of town.

Its really not a problem getting out of the centre of london either get a tube or a black cab. Getting a Cab would be easier because the Tube is always absolutly packed especially so in the morning. As for how long it takes you to get to the course that is totally dependant on how big of a tip you offer.
