Difference in Distance between fade and Draw?.

Just wondering what everyones distance difference is when they hit a fade with a 7ir or a Draw with a 7ir?.

I think I hit it with a bit of a draw which is my natural shot, about 155, and it mabye only goes 135-140 with a fade... I really want to switch and hit the high fade... but It doesn't get the distance I want. Mabye my swing isn't right, but my ball doesn't seem to go near as far with the fade... when I hit the draw well... It will stop on a dime for me too, so mabye I should just stick to that. .. Sorry for the weird post. .

Chris.

With a 7 iron, you could have anything from 10 to 30 yards, depends on the wind, turn it over wind from the right and its long, way long, fade into that wind and its short.

But all things considered I will fadea 7 iron to 155,yet I can draw it in to 165,so I reckon 10 yards is about right, all things being equal.

Also,a fade to me,is about 5 yards of movement,10 yards would be a lot with a 7 iron.So if you fade it that much look at reducing it to a slight fade.

A fade that has that piercing flight that rises and then fades in is a very powerful shot to have in your armoury.A draw is fine if its your stock shot and can be relied upon, but to many better players a fade is a must.

What matters is that you can call upon a shot when you need it,hitting a gauranteed fade off a tee bed is a must for me.

Fade? Usually 165. Draw? Usually 175-180.

Given calm conditions and same elevation green.
