I'm getting close to Corey Pavin on average drives, but still about 20 yards or so off...

Tiger Woods, #256. Interesting.

It's also interesting to note that there's a wide variety of players in the top 200. Appleby, Singh, Bubba, ect. And, that a vast majority of the big bombs were in Hawaii...

Just my thoughts...

Now that Tiger's learned he doesn't have to use a driver there won't be much competition. They won't be able to "Tiger proof" the courses by just adding distance.

100 bucks says he's back to slashing them left and right by the next tournament.

There's something fundamental - nay, organic - about a golfer using his driver to smash a small white sphere as far as humanly possible. It's like a cosmic ballet between humankind and the las of physics.

Sorta like when you drink 18 beers. You can do it, but there are always consequences.....

I agree. The only reason Tiger kept the driver out of the bag was because it was physically impossible for him to control it. The ground was so hard that he was still hitting irons 280 yards and his drives would have been bouncing around 350, 360 yards from the tee.

I would be about 55 yards short of making that list. I can not comprehend what a 400 yard drive looks like.

Even if I hit my driver flush, I'd be lucky to get it 280yrds. I'm a resonably fit, strong guy.... so there must be a massive flaw in my technique!

I can't imagine how anybody could hit the ball 400+ yards, surely it's time to look at changing the balls the pro's use? Otherwise it won't be long before people are driving par 5's and all the golf courses out there become obsolete.

Oh and a little bit of an random question, you know that Nick Faldo and Tiger fell out because Nick criticised Tiger, saying he couldn't play a certain type of shot, well does anybody know what shot he was talking about? It looks to me as Tiger has every shot in his locker.

Cheers

I see Gore and Appleby take 5 of top 20 spots up between. Wish I could that. 400 yards is a Driver then a full eight iron for me

Selly last weekend during the open the announcers said that at a tourny
last year that Faldo said Tiger fanned a shot with his club. And the press brought the critique too Tiger's attention and that is what the feud is about.

I haven't even looked at that list but I am guessing Kapalua? 18 there is not even a real par 5 you get like 150 yards of roll.

I tried to find the driving distance for the LPGA and couldn't. Now THAT would be really demoralizing to all the studs in these forums I'll bet!!

Not so much, there are women out there that can out lift me, out box me and go fully kung fu crazy on my ass, getting beat up by a chick would be a whole lot worse than being out driven by one.
