Thread: VTDivot golf swing

  1. You have already released your hand at waist high, you need to hold that longer.
You are standing a little far from the ball, move closer and your arms will work with your body easier.
Your first move is your hands, it should be your hips, keeps your hands passive until you feel they need to move.
By picking the club up, and it is very slightly, you can't load on your back leg all the way and that is why you drag it thru rather than push thru the ball.
Your tempo is very good and that allows you to correct these flaws some.
Correct these, especially your hand release and you would see 5 yards per club easy.
I can get more detailed but then everyone else will fall asleep

  2. Nice form VT. Great rhythm and tempo.
    Not much I can add.

Looking from behind the shoulders, hits, kneecaps and feet are slightly outa whack. Maybe not, just looks that way.
Agree with Obagain on starting with hips and not hands.
Also you could clear you hips more on the driver, (looks good for the iron!!). On the downswing just think about getting your juck thro the ball as quickly and forceably as possible!

9 h/c? Your putting must be worse than mine!! LOL!
Doctors say that you should eat 5 pieces of fruit or veg a day to remain healthy. Last week I ate 5 mouldy plums and that night I shat the bed. What's healthy about that?:shocked::shocked:

All excellent observations (especailly at full speed) I ran the video thru the V2 Home software for a frame by frame analysis and saw the same flaws. I esepcially agree on the starting with the hips and shoulders and allowing the hands to follow. I will work on this. Thanks!

PS - does the early hand release lead to the hook?

  4. It can. Your hands are used to balance yourself, when you release early you will eitherpush your hands away from your body which normally creates a push right or you will pull your shoulder ahead of your hips and that would create a pull.
If you pull it like this but your hands a moving away to balance yourself it will turn into a hook.
Think about trying to put the end of your grip into your right pocket. That will keep your hands closer and keep your angle longer.
I tell guy to think of an ice skater spinning, the closer they bring in their hands the faster they go. Put your hands across your chest and hands on your shoulders and turn as fast as you can. Now put your hands straight out and turn fast again. Which is faster and more in control?
The golf swing is the same way, the closer you keep your arms, the faster you can swing.

that little kid in the background of the front shot has an excellent swing as well. (check it out everyone).

I grew up a couple of blocks from their factory (on George St. I think) about a jillion years ago. McKenzie dogs were my health food of choice. I haven't had one in 40 years.

That's why you're still alive and healthy

  10. Nice swing but the 2nd view (first from front, second overall) of the swing your head moved forward and back alot. The next shot (same view and swing, 3rd overall) it was good again (no movement). I was taught by a scratch golfer to not think about leading with the hips. That it should all be together. I wouldn't change a thing other then watch you head movement.
