Why does he pause. He would me so much better without that little pause!

What's really funny is that if you see Sir Charles on the range he has a (more) fluid swing little to no pause. He only pauses once he's got a card and pencil in his pocket. It's purely a mental thing.

After Woods, Barkley probably has the most analyzed swing in golf. He's had the best instructors and has played for years. Nobody can fix it. Probably the ugliest swing ever seen on TV.

HE said he only pauses at the..middle...because a teacher said it will help his game, and improve his ball strikeing.

He most likely meant for Sir Charles to pause at the top of his swing - not at his knees...it is so brutal.

At least you'll know you're a better golfer than your governor.

You don't see full swing yips very often. It's amazing he doesn't quit.

He loves to play...is a member at Greystone CC here which had a Seniors/Champions Tour event for 12 years. He is known to play in quite a few charity scrambles and fundraisers - especially for the Auburn Tigers.

He is just as outspoken here as he is in the national press...I saw him in a bar onetime and talked to him for a couple of minutes. Easy to talk to and I swear not a bit over 6'4"...imagine if he could harness the power of those legs he used to dominate NBA rebounding into his golf swing...he would crush it.

He is very bright but a loose cannon if I ever saw one...

I saw this a while back on some sports show with Michael Jordan.

MJ was joking on Barkley, and they showed the clip. The funny thing was MJ said Charles was once a low handicap golfer, and then went to a "un-named" but well known swing coach who instilled the "pause" in his swing, and he has never been able to overcome it, while under pressure.

The pause started at the top of his swing, and has morphed into the horrible thing we see now.
