Exclamation Practising - Training methods

Hi Golfforum, hope everybody is well and that you played really well last weekend.

I need some advise from you guys who play a low single hcp. I used to play on that level before, but unfortunalty I had a back injury which led me to take a 4 year break. I got my surgery last year and could not wait to start practising again.

My hcp is now just above 10 and I really want to get back to under 3.
I can swing again without any pain, and i think my swing is now just as good as it was when i was on my top. But not as consistent and accuarte - so i need somw help.
The training methods i used to do are not as fun anylonger and I was wondering what training methods you use.
You can post whatever you found efficient to improve the different parts of your game game, eg. chip, put, pitch accuracy etc.

I can start by giving an example for a putting exercise:

If you have a friend a good putting training is to get on a practise putting green, chose two different hole and then try to "score" at each other consequetively. Until someone has scored maybe 5 times, then u chose two different holes. What it improves: (Accuracy), concentration under training, rythm, feel for distances.

I think this could help everybody, so post away

Yours

I usually go to the range by myself, same with the practice green. I usually lay my putter down and make a half circle behind the hole with four or five balls, each putter length at different angles. Basicallly it looks like the shape of the top half of a clock. I then pick a spot about 5 feet away. Hit ten balls at the hole and score 2 points for each one that goes in, 1 point for each ball that gets to the hole and stays in the semicircle. If it comes up short then I get no points, even if it is on the edge of the cup.

After playing about four rounds of this game I hit 100 3 footers.

Here is another training teqnique:

If you have time and try to improve your score seriously one training method that we used to do in the club team is to go out with only one club and a putter. We did this with the 4 – 9 Irons. This improves your feel for different clubs and much more important it gives you a real good insight how differently you can play the same course. Unbelievable but true – you can score really low doing this. With the 7 iron and the putter I shot a 78.

Hope you guys like the thread.

Keen on getting to know your training techniques.
