Golfsmith has the equipment. It is pretty much free. Just take your club in and indicate you want to see if you are getting the right trajectory, and have the correct shaft, one of their guys should be able to help or if you know what you are looking for, you can do it yourself. They usually just leave me alone to demo clubs, but ask if I need help. You can also use their used clubs or have them tape up new ones to demo at no cost, to see the different results. Or at least that is the case in the one I go to in Livingston, NJ.

edit 1 - Golf Galaxy also has the equipment and will let you use it for free, but will likely charge you if you need help on diagnoses. Likely a local pro has a device to monitor swing speed, and will likely let you borrow on the range if you know them. Although Golfsmith is usually the best from my experience

Yes, the one in East Hanover. They have 2 net bays set up with launch monitors that will tell you all the pertinent information. You simply align the ball with the black line in the appropriate spot. They have always been very helpful there for me, so just ask one of them if you have a question. There is also rarely any waiting at that store during the day. I live up in the Pocono area and it is really the closest place with accurate equipment. I go out there about once a month, as my wife works in the general area. Actually going there tomorrow to stock up on Balls and stuff, as they have Sports Authority and Dicks on the same road so I can compare price and find what I need. Just tell them when you walk in you have your own club.

For future reference there is also a driving range on 10 closer to Parsippany by Adventis that has a decent selection of clubs for sale that they will let you demo on their range. But they don't have any kind of monitor.

Don't worry, we have guys come in all the time to get checked but have no intentions of buying.
It is part of the service, if we allow you to do this the likelyhood of you buying something from us later goes up.

I refrained from saying that same thing simply because some people do not agree that you should do this, but in all honesty my wife and I have spent about $3k-4k in that store in the last year that we likely would not have had they not been so friendly in allowing me to use their launch monitor. It simply became much more convenient to buy our clubs directly from them, than to spend the time and money in gas trying to save a few bucks to drive around or buy a club off the net that I had not hit.

I think they realize they offer a service that not many offer, and the more they get you in the store, the more likely they are to receive your future business.

I also spent 3 hours in their store trying out putters, and walked out deciding I liked my current putter better, but went in 2 weeks later and bought a couple hybrids that I started eyeing when I was looking at putters.
