Makes no sense.
Thats like saying you can compare the White Sox who won the world series last year to the yankees who have 26 total. Im not saying that Tiger isnt great, and if he retired this year, right now, he may be considered the greatest. But the measuring stick IS the majors whether you think its simplistic or not. Until Tiger wins number 19, Jack is still #1.

Quite frankly, that's bollox.

By using your yardstick-for-idiots, Ben Curtis is a greater golfer than, say, Colin Montgomerie.

Start to think beyond 2nd-rate tv punditry.

See, there are always going to be exceptions to the rule, but really Majors ARE the measuring stick, whether its yards or meters....Dan Marino is another example, he holds nearly every passing record in the NFL BUT never won a super bowl. IS he great? Yes. Is he one of the ALL TIME greats? Not in my mind.

I was referring to Dan Marino, but Tiger is definitely an all time great...just not THE greatest as of YET.

I'd put Marino in the all time greats category. He's in the hall. He's not the greatest obviously, but he's definitely one of the all time greats.

I have not ever nor will I ever in all likely hood ever be a Tiger fan. Soemthign about the guy just irks me. Thats not saying he's isn't great. But I do have to say as of right now I don't think he's the greatest ever.

Marino was awesome and unarguably one of the greatest QB's ever. His statistics absolutely back it up without equivocation.

His only problem was Don Shula couldn't put together a decent defense once he got there.

Read my thread, Dan Marino is an exception to the statistics rule...he never won the big one but is still one of the greats....

Got cut off, I dont consider marino an all time great though because my measuring stick is Joe Montana... Marino was great just not the greatest.

All this foorball talk reminded me of something. Last weekend Daman (sp?) Allan QB for the Argo's surpasses the 70,000 yard passing mark only Warren Moon has more. Marino Favre all those guys, have just over 60,000 yards.

Thought it was interesting that they kept the stats for this together, and not seperate for the two leagues.
