Next?!?!?

In case anybody was left on the board who doubted how good Tiger is, see exhibit B- the PGA Championship. Not one person put any pressure at all on Tiger, not even the so called "challenger" Phil, and it was basically a nice walk for Tiger.... I guess the only real competition Tiger has really is Jack Nicklaus...

So it seems.

It's amazing to watch. Luke Donald must have been shitting himself thinking about it. He never had a prayer.....and he played pretty well I thought.

I never doubted him and knew he would tear it up after the poor showing at the US Open. He's too good at too many aspects of the game, not to mention the mental aspect. He got the read off Luke's putt and then drained it. He hits it as long as anyone, plays the long irons better than anyone, putting... best in history and he just never quits. I was wondering, do you think he hit into the 17th bunker on purpose?

Well, that may be so, he also got to 50 wins about 3yrs ahead of Jack. That doesn't make him the best right now and don't get me wrong I think Tiger will end up being the best ever, just not yet....

Not yet???

When?

He crushes eveyone. He'd crush Jack in his prime...you know it and I know it, you just aren't prepared to admit it.

At the time I knew he hit in the bunker on purpose. Why bring the water into play? If he misses it a little short, he's on the green and putting. If he actually hits it where he intends (which he did) he has a pretty simple sand shot to set up at most a bogey. Which he took to make it a 4 shot lead instead of 5.

The guy is the best ever. He can't hit a driver, he is finally admitting that fact, and playing accordingly. Nobody has a better short game. Nobody has a better long iron game. There isn't a better putter. And NOBODY will outthink him.

He should have won the Masters except for a balky putter on Sunday. He hit all the shots he needed to. Then though, I'm sure he was pressing too hard to win one more for "pops". Without that weight, that impending sadness and all that comes with it, Tiger wins 3 majors this year. His dad died shortly afterward and Tiger's last competitive round to his next was Sunday at the Masters to Thursday at the US Open. That's a LONG layoff in his world.

And what have we seen since? Nothing but Mastery. Really, nobody's been close.

Hogan and Mickelson didn't win a major until they were 34! If Tiger win's 2 per year until he's 34, he passes Nicklaus. Gary Van Sickle is forecasting Tiger to win 5 in a row, just to best himself. The Masters is always there for him, and the US Open and British Open set up well for him next year also.

After Tiger gets his 19th major, the only thing that will keep him interested is to try to win the MOST majors of each type. Jack has 6 Green Jackets, right? Tiger will want 7. Watson has 5 Open championships, most in the "modern era", and I'm sure Tiger will want to pass at least that. etc. etc. etc.

The only real question will be if he'll try to set the record for oldest player to win a major. If he's still interested that far from now.

Ok let me clarify my statements. I do believe that Tiger will eventually be labeled the Greatest of all Time. He is just not there yet, he doesnt have the record for most majors, he doest have the most wins of all time. You can go from top to bottom listing what he is best at and who he is better than, he would be number one in every category, but until he wins #19 he CANNOT be the "GOAT."

I hate Tiger, and even I'll admit that the guy is bloody head and shoulders above anyone else.

It's sickening, actually.

Tell me more about this "I hit it into the bunker on purpose" business? That sounds like complete BS to me. He must have said something like, if I was going to miss, I was glad it was long and in the bunker, relatively easy shot with a front pin, I doubt he was trying to put it in there.

I will put up $1000 today to the first person willing to give me 50:1 odds that Tiger will take the Grand Slam next year.

I'm not sure that absolute figure in Majors is the only criterion on which to base "who is the greatest". Seems overly simplistic.

If Tiger were to win all Majors next year, then get run over by a car before beating 18, would you say he wasn't the greatest based purely on Major results?

Makes no sense.
