Advice for a semi-beginner

Hi all,

Looking to get back into the game, I'm 27 now and I haven't played in probably 12-13 years. So basically I'm kinda starting from scratch.

Clubs: Looking at Hippo ITX2 and Wilson Deep Red lines. Thoughts on these? Any other recommendations would be welcome, looking to spend in the 600-700 range for woods, irons, and wedges.

Any other advice, thoughts, etc would be appreciated.

TIA

mike

Welcome Mike. I just turned 30 and started at 28 so I know the feeling. Have you ever used Ebay. There are thousands of clubs new and used for sale on there. You would have no problem putting together a full set of nice clubs and even a bag and shoes for $600-$700. There will be a ton of stuff going cheap on there as it is the end of the month.

Yeah, I considered ebay, but the way I figure it, the shipping costs are going to offset a big chunk of what I would hypothetically save. There are several real nice golf shops near my home, so I'd rather just go that route. Instant gratification and all that.

Welcome Mike,

I am a big believer in custom fit clubs, and the benefits they have on your game. Take a look at the sponsor www.customgolfsales.com web site, they are very helpful in this area.

Welcome back to the game we all love, all the best to you.
