Head covers for irons?

How do you feel about using head covers for irons while on the course? I use them for all my clubs; because the sound of my clubs banging against each other drives me nuts.

I think the vast majority of players out there make fun of guys with headcovers. I know this because I use them.

I have forged Mizuno Mp-30's that look like the day I bought them because of my headcovers. If that's worth a little flack now and then, I can suck it up and take it.

I hate taking off and putting on headcovers. I had my Clevelands for 15 years and they looked like brand new and never used them. I do use them on my driver and woods all the time and have one on the putter when not playing.

I hate the sound of my irons rattling together, and the headcovers are next on my 'to buy' list, and even if it takes longer - it'll only be a few more seconds(10 at most?) and it they cause me to receive some 'funny looks and comments' so be it, but I will know that my clubs will be better condition than theirs.

I think they are a great idea, but I'm ashamed too say that I'm too lazy for iron covers that I have never owned..I do use them on my driver and woods. So I guess if they came with the clubs I might use them.

Not even. Just grab it off and put it in your pocket.

These are what I use. They're super slick and work like a charm:

Club Glove Standard Iron Covers

I don't use them, and personally think the idea of iron headcovers is a bit strange. If I got a set of real expensive irons, I might start using them to protect them, but for now, i'm fine.

I had some.. but they lasted about 3 rounds, then I decided they were a waste of my time.. as for the clankin sound of my clubs, Im used to it.

I kind of like it now

For god's sakes.

They are pretty anal looking IMO but I have noticed my irons are getting some bag chatter. I think I'm just going to put the headcover back on my 4wood and try to arrange them around the headcovers again. That seemed to working for a while.

I voted that head covers are for wimps. Not because that's what I think, but because Rockford uses them.

I do them on my woods, hybrids and putter.

Last night i picked up a couple of iron headcovers that where presumably from the group playing infront of us.

I couldnt find them to ask if they were theirs when the round had finished so they went into the bin.

I dont use them personaly, when i need to give my clubs a freshen up a stainless steel cleaner and some autosol does wonders.

I'm willing to bet that the VAST majority of people that have voted use cast clubs.

Get some forged clubs and you'll quickly come around.

Dave, that was low. The gawd's honest truth, but low nonetheless.

I do not, when I get some forged clubs I will, but mine are cast and are relitavely durable. Though I do for my woods and Two Ball, all of which are beautiful still.

Never. It's like putting hubcaps over your chrome rims.
