My gawd...

My putter is on fire. I don't think I missed anything inside 15 feet today. It was like the ball had a homing beacon to the bottom of the cup. And no sidedoors, just solid putting all around. Even my lags were giving me tap ins.

I will admit, however, that the greens are in the best shape of the year. We had 1/2" the other night and it hasn't gotten super hot to cook them since. They're running just beautifully.

Just in time for the first snowfall. Sigh.

If anyone needs a putting ringer for a best ball, I'm your man. Well, at least I was today. Just nuts.

I had one of those days this summer. Unfortunately, the driving, irons and short game weren't any good so had the same score anyway. What was you score by the way??

Shot 78 on the first 18. We played 27, I was one over on the other nine.

Yeah mon. I thought you only lost like 2 balls a year. Please elaborate as to the extenuating circumstances causing you to have 15 footers for par or bogey

Lets just say my driver was decent. My irons went on vacation, and my putter basically saved my sorry ass today. I was hitting my 4 iron well, however. But my 8 and 7 iron, I musta hit at least 7 of them thin. I have no idea why either.

I also got stung by a wasp on the MCL.

Wanna open any other wounds?

For the record, I did lose two balls today. That makes a dozen for the year. Maybe 13, but I'd have to go back and double check.

hah. i lost a shitload over the course of the summer. especially when dialing in the driver.

That was 24 putts right? The best I've had is 25, though I had 28 a week ago without making anything outside of 6 feet

Nice job on the 1 putt birds. Best I've had this year with the putter I shot 81 with 27. Best I had chipping I shot 79 with a scant 23. I chipped in twice for birds. When I'm on I'm pretty much automatic inside 6ft. Of course it helps that I hit about 4 or 5 greens on a good day.

My PPGIR is probably about a 2.7. lol.

Nope, it was me. The equipment is never to blame for my game.

Putts per round is somewhat of a bunk stat. If you putt off the green not in regulation, it doesn't count. I do count them, which seems proper to me. So anything above counts putts even off the green. But if you count them, you're increasing your putts per round, which could easily be a chip but you opted for the putter. Conversely, if you don't count them, then you're understating your true putts per round and not really giving a good indication of your average.

But whatever, I like to keep track. I always count all my putts, from where ever they originate.

You might if you bladed 7 or 8 approach shots to leave you chipping it close.

I hate that. Your scoring clubs go south, yet your putter is on fire. When can a guy catch a break and hit them all consistently?
