Playing Style

Here's another one from Golfonline. This is a test for what your playing style is. I was a "stylist", similar to Phil and Sergio. It was dead on though, I love trying to hit fades and draws. In fact I can't remember the last time I actually tried to hit a shot straight, other than a putt.

Try it out. You may have to click on one of the other styles when you are done and then click on the one they gave you when the new page opens.

I am a strategist. Nothing wrong with seeing Jack's picture there I suppose. I will lay up to a "good" yardage and hit less than driver if I believe that it's called for. I have a near scratch short game so I have no trouble with safe. I can routinely shoot in the mid 70s with no birdies.

Well I believe that for WBL,

You are a Stylist (You scored 50 out of 25)

You like to create and play different shots, have a good imagination, and keen visualization skills.

You are a Strategist (You scored 40 out of 25)

You have a methodical, systematic approach to the game, play to your strengths and are aware of your limitations.

Get the rest of your profile, including strengths, weaknesses, and how to improve.

I am an equal Stylist and Strategist. Quite funny really, on the 'How to Improve'. With one it was to be more aggressive and the other said to play the sensible shot more often!

You are a Stylist (You scored 46 out of 25)

You like to create and play different shots, have a good imagination, and keen visualization skills.

You tend to make this game tougher than it has to be because you take the fancy shot over the basic, no-frills choice. Plus, you think you have a limitless arsenal of shots, which makes it difficult to select one and commit to it. In effect, you have too much game -- or at least think you do -- and the price you pay is erratic choices and inconsistent results.

I dont think, i know i have too much game

As a stylist, your motto is "anything's possible."

I'd like to be Stylist the most, granted sometimes I like the fancy stuff, but I know when just to play it to the middle.

Lol, this about summed it up for me... Plus, you think you have a limitless arsenal of shots, which makes it difficult to select one and commit to it.

170yd. par 3 hmmmm.... Knockdown fade 7iron and run it at the cup, highdraw 8iron, try to back it in, high cut 8iron, make it drop in and kick right? I usually commit to one and then overdo it and miss the green entirely. Last round I went for the knockdown fade 7i and ended up 10yards right of the green.

Since I do not attempt to curve the ball, I just plan where to drop my high soft, always-straight shot so it rolls to the pin.

You are a Swashbuckler (You scored 40 out of 25).

I like to play to my strengths, which is the driver.

I can shape shots when in trouble or on par threes, but it's hard to really get creative with a wedge, unless the course will allow you to bump and run

I came out equal parts Technician and Strategist (both 36 out of 25). Stylist came in a close third at 32 out of 25.

I am a strategist and stylist, 40 out of 25, thats goofy. I read through my non dominants and would have to think that the biggest problem and there for trait that I notice about myself is that I am a technician, I have been working on my swing way to much and have only recently just gone back to letting the groove find me. I worried way to much during the middle of the summer about where my grip was, what are my knees doing, how do my elbows relate to the correct position for this point of my swing, am I wearing clean underwear etc. etc. etc. Now I have just gone back to letting it happen and not thinking so much about my swing, and have had better results in the last 3 rounds I have played.
