Need Info on Santee [SC] Golf Packages

I am looking into Santee, South Carolina golf packages and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them?

No, but Santee is only 130 miles from me. Are you thinking of going there? Santee on Lake Marion has been famous for years for tremendous fishing, especially rock bass.

Do you know the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? The porcupine has its' pricks on the outside.

Yeah, Siberia, I'm thinking of going down because they have advertised such good rates in SCORE GOLF magazine. My wife and I went to Myrtle Beach last May and liked it very much ... did more than just golf [only hit the links twice in 10 days!]. So we're thinking of heading that way again ... only this time I'm hoping to get more golf in!

I used to be an avid fisherman but gave it up looooong ago.

And after checking out the area, Santee sure looks nice.

Thanks for the input, my frosty friend!

Just to be clear, I don't mean to disrespect Santee as a golf destination. There are limited golf courses and lodging choices in Santee as compared to Myrtle Beach, plus there is no nightlife at all and only a few restaurants to choose from. Yes Canadriver, the prices might be a little cheaper in Santee, but the overall Myrtle Beach experience is second to none. Just my 2 cents, but please double-check with others.

I really appreciate that info EDS! Hearing that "there is no nightlife at all" suits me fine!!! I don't like all the "Las Vegas style" stuff ... that was one of the things that turned me off in Myrtle Beach. Loved all sorts of other things like the State Park, the Plantation just south of town, Charleston horse-drawn carriage tour of the city, The Ripley's Aquarium, etc.

I like quiet places though ... so it sounds like Santee is a great place for me and the missus!

You're welcome. You may want to ask your Santee golf packager what other things are there to do in the area when not golfing. Please make sure to provide us with a trip report when you get back, thanks.

While you're getting info, you may as well check out Hilton Head. It might be more expensive but I'd be willing to guess that it would be the "quiet" that you are looking for without being "boring". For that matter, check out Charleston, SC too. It is an absolutely beautiful city with a rich history.

We visited Charleston when we were down there. Took the harbour tour and the horse-drawn carriage tour ... then went out to the Drayton (?) plantation ... all in one day! Fascinating city with an extraordinary history!

Also absolutely LOVED Brook Green Gardens just south of Myrtle Beach! What a beautiful place?!!!
