Lets be positive for once.....

We are always whingeing about our flaws (and rightly so coz most of us are rubbish ), so as a change of pace what would you say is the best part of your game?

Driving, long irons (bet that gets a big response LOL), short iron approaches, greenside game, escapology or putting?

Personally I'm good at the things that you have to be bad to get good at (if you see what i mean), my recovery shots and greenside chipping is by far the best aspect of my game but regardless of how impressive these shots may be they never quite counterbalance the crappiness of the shot that put me there in the first place.

I think the best part of my game is that I truly enjoy myself out there - no matter what. Sure, I have my moments of "dammit" but I've pretty much learned to relax and enjoy just being able to play the game.

I enjoy the challenge of pulling off a difficult shot.

I enjoy a 20-foot putt that scrapes the edge and ends up a foot past. Sure it would have been nice if it had gone it, but I've made a good stroke, so what the hell.

I enjoy striping a drive 270 yards down the middle (don't laugh, 270 is about my limit - LOL)

Most of all, I enjoy coming back and making par right after taking a quad on the previous hole.

I've learned to look past the ups and downs of the game, and enjoy the game for its own sake. That's what I'm most proud of.

My long game is the best part of my game, I'm very reliable with a driver in the hand or long irons.

Potentially my short could be the best part of my game, my putting stroke is very good, I just lack confidence with the putter, on the rare occasion when my confidence is up, I rarely miss from inside 10 feet.

I have to say the best part of my game would have to be my greenside. Inside 30-40 yards. I'm verry creative around the greens and have great feel for pitches and chips. I expect to be up and down every time when i miss a green. I obviousley dosen't happen, but I would say 70-75% of the time it does.

I'm getting better and better at every aspect. My bad shots are getting more manageable and I have the confidence to recover when I go astray. I too learned to hit a lot of shots as a result of recovery shots. Now I can take those shots and use them after a good shot too. I learned to hit a fade my 1st month playing, lots of trees at my course. Now I can hit this a lot tighter, holed a wedge with a 3/4 SW slight fade last week. My chipping is stil my saving grace. I'd be willing to bet my up and down percentage has been pretty close to scratch the last few rounds. I'm heading out for the $12 after 2 special. I 've got 3 straight rounds under 80 (77,77,79) so I'll see if I can do it again. I have confidence I can break par (at this course) with the shots I can hit consistantly 80-90% of the time. Just a matter of sticking to the plan, not trying to go for low percentage shots and playing to my strengths. Knowing that I can make par just as well from 10yds. off the green as I can with a longer putt on the GIR really helps though. There are getting to be a few holes that are now birdie/par holes rather than par/bogey holes.

I feel that I kind grind the balls out of an awful long game day. I shot 79 with 0 fairways and 1 GIR. I think that's my best round. On good days my short irons approaches are darts towards the pin

Probably my chipping, or my distance. I hit the ball pretty far, and have gotten a lot better at keeping it in play, and although my ball striking is ok, i play a course with small greens, so I am frequently left with chips and pitches of under 20 yards, and these are definitely where i make up strokes on people. I hadnt played in 3 weeks up until Sunday, and i went out and hit the ball so poorly, i was topping, slicing, hooking, stuff i just dont do. Still shot 72 because i could get it up and down

Hard to say, really.

Yesterday I hit almost every fairway which put me in great position to score, and not too much stress on the rest. I guess I'm just happy I get to golf and my greatest strength is that I'm "better than Ezra."

Best part of my game? Not taking it too seriously, being able to laugh at myself and others in the group no matter if I'm shooting low or high. I just love being out there.

Although i hit a long drive.I suppose it would be how far i hit my high lofted irons. My wedge is over 150 and i can hit greens from 185 with a 7 iron. But it does depend on the way i feel on the day.

You better watch it bud. I chunked the crap out of a bunch of irons today and still shot 40-40. Give me my strokes and I'll take your lunch $$. I'll even tee off with a 7iron on the #1 cap hole just to piss you off. lol.

Enjoying the great outdoors with buddies. Laughing at each other. And enjoying those towering iron shots that threaten to hit the pin.

And the politically correct term for this now is "let's be pro-active"!!

Driving is the best part of my game. Certainly not in comparison to the way most of you guys play; but compared to the rest of my game the driver reigns supreme. I don't hit it long; but I do usually keep it straight enough to remain in play. I am also fairly confident with a wedge from 80-120 yards. Long irons, chips, and short pitches are usually a toss up.

#1 Cap Hole? Like the hardest hole on the course? It's 480 yards with an elevated green, Par 4

Anyway, bring it son. How many strokes? 2?

It would depend on which day you ask. I don't have a hook, or a slice, and I don't hit towering irons or "gopher goosers", I don't usually 3 jack my putts, and I don't knock my chips in so I would have to say that the BEST part of my game is that I DON'T SUCK. I'm a pretty average golfer who loves the sights, sounds, smells, companionship, and feeling of being on a golf course.
