I'm going to watch a second-stage qualifier on the 18th at Lake Jovita, a course near me. I know these guys are really good. I played the course about three weeks ago and can't wait to see them attack it. It will be nice to watch a tourney without the crushing crowds of a tour event.

Read "A good Walk Spoiled"...

Great book to get inside the ropes on the pressures of this gig and the PGA tour in general. These dudes are fighting for their livelihood. Sure the Big Gamers are earning big money, but most of these guys are fighting to keep a roof over their head, or find other employment. Sadly, although these guys are very talented, very few make it having to rethink their career expectations.

Quiz question: anyone remember Gordon Sherry?

Answer: Scottish amateur, who had the golfing world at his feet as an amateur (finished 4th in Scottish Open) but failed to make it past tour school. Now?

Plenty of other examples like Phillip Walton, Notah Begay III etc.

Have read Feinsteins book, great read and really brings it home how hard it is to survive outside of 125 on the money list.

Notah Begay is in final q for euro tour and 2nd stage of PGA tour, hope he suceeds.

I saw he was on the Euro mix, didn't know about US tour. Looks like he will be a busy boy in the next few weeks. Wouldn't need to develop a swing fault over this period, eh?
