I made my first trip down to Florida this past summer and my brother-in-law took me to play the South Winds Golf Course and it was a beautiful course. We played on the morning of 4th July and it was just $24 including cart, which was something of a shock to me after a year of playing here in Jersey!

I thought the course was beautifully landscaped and maintained, and on first inspection doesn't look that difficult (certainly the bunkers could mostly be chipped out of rather than blasted from). HOWEVER, the sting in the tail of this course is that 16 out of the 18 holes feature a water hazard! My game wasn't at its best that day, and I certainly lost a few in their various creeks and lakes!

Certainly a fun course to consider that sets a challenge with all that water that I doubt many courses can match.

I loved there a long time but left in 1991 and do not remember where is good. I envy you and should go back some day for a visit.

I live just to the south of Boca so Im pretty knowledge of the area. Boca has nice places to play but can run up the cost just a bit. Also, most of them are private. Check the pembroke pines area for a bit more of reasonable and great courses. Also, you have jacaranda Bonaventure are 2 of the best in that area. Personally its a bit of a drive but if you want to play at Links of Key Biscayne its a great corse challenging and it doesnt cost too much! Heres the link:

Have fun in south florida and enjoy your stay.. Oh btw, if your into nightlife head to south beach atleast once !
