Walk or Ride?

I take a cart in the Summer. Rest of the year, I walk. You?

Walk all the time.

I only cart in tournaments and when I'm in Texas.

Walk er actaully more a slow jog. I've been in a golf cart twice in my life, hate playing from a cart. Kind of spoils it for me. I like to talk to myself and plan my next shot while walking to my ball.

I only walk unless you are required to take one.

Funny story, my dad and i were playing at la purisma and he was riding passenger in the golf cart a sharp corner came up and i looked over and he was rolling down a 30' hill (it wasnt steep just real gradual). i laughed so hard i almost pissed my pants.

Used to have a Sun Mountain standup carry bag and always walked. Then I got old and pulled a cart due to sore back carrying. Now my back really hurts when I walk (or stand) too much so I try to pull the cart for 9 holes and always have to ride a cart for 18 or more. Sometimes I can't walk 9 anymore. I usually know before I play. Walking is the most enjoyable way to golf but I'll ride if I have to now.

We were in a scramble once and got called in for an hour due to a huge thunder (and lightning) storm. It got totally black and just drenched the course. Then after it blew over we all went back out to the holes we were on when called in. This was kind of a raggy course and the carts were really junky with bald tires. My partner and I are going down this hill next to another couple guys and their cart begins to spin slowly around and around as they continued to travel alongside us going down the hill. They looked like they were on a tiltawhirl and were trying to steer it out to no avail. It was the funniest golfing sight I've ever seen since they were right next to us. We all stopped at the bottom of the hill to wipe the tears from our eyes we were laughing so hard.

Have you tried the push carts?
They are great, I prefer pushing the cart rather than pulling.
I use the Bag Boy LS.

Yeah, I regretted not buying one after I bought my pull cart but I've got a really nice one. I'm riding more then pulling or pushing now so it's kind of a mute (oops..moot) point.

I've got to tell you this as a friend...
it is MOOT POINT.

I always walk...unless I'm in St. George Utah in the summer. One of the main reasons I enjoy this game is the beauty of the courses. I just like to be outside and when I'm carting I'm not enjoying as much as walking.

Sorry bames, but the grammatically correct sentence construction is: "I just like to be outside, and when I'm riding in a cart I'm not enjoying myself as much as when I'm walking."

Used to be a walker... always walked the golf course, hiked in the mountains. But about 10 years ago I started having trouble with my feet, now I can't walk nine holes without being crippled afterward. The problem is walking on turf. I can walk on pavement (my wife and I spent 3 weeks in Italy this summer and walked all over the place), but on any soft surface, my feet will start to ache after just a couple of holes. I have nice Sun Mountain Speed Cart, but I can't use it most of the time. So I guess I'm a walker by inclination, but a rider by necessity.

The shot talk English class. When do we graduate? And you'd never believe I've had six technical metallurgical papers published would you? Actually I'm getting more senile by the day (did I spell senile right?)

I ride in the brutal summers we have here in Georgia. I have been enjoying walking the last couple of months, and last Saturday I met up with 2 other walkers my age. Hope to play with them this Saturday as well.

The course I play most of the time does not allow walking and has a really nice GPS system in the carts so I always ride.
