Golf Statistics

This is in no way spam!

I am working on a site that monitors your statistics for free (I am not going to divulge the site since it would be advertising and I have not paid for it). What type of statistics would you like a website to keep track for you?

Pretty much the same stuff I pay for on golfserve. Putts, gir, scoring avg., handicap, up and downs. I try to keep track of fairways too but it gets to be a pain. I also like to know my par 3,4 and 5 scoring averages.

Ok, www.mygolfstatistics.com I am doing it for the good of the golf world.

Only the contact page is currently working, I am heavy into the code right now over the course review section.

I found a cool little golf journal at a golf shop a couple of weeks ago that I just used for the first time this weekend. It lets you keep track of every stat you can think of per round. I think it will really help me identify what I need to work on. I was amazed at how many fairways I hit and greens I missed by recording it all.

Mods, please let me know if I can post the link for this book. Otherwise send me and IM if you want the link.

I use intelligolf, may give you some ideas as well. I track enter putts and GIR's every round, which it calculates GIR's, and stats on putts with a GIR just by entering putts. I also enter Penalties, Fairways and the side of the fairway I missed on occasion. Most of this is done on my palm though.

As far as stats it gives you a very large amount of statistics just by entering putts and score, and even breaks it down for pars 3,4, and 5's. I use almost all of the stats it gives me, except I rarely use distances. For instance, I know now that although I have had 3 putts since I got my new putter, yesterday was the first time I 3 putted a par 5 with my new putter. It also tracks history for holes and dream rounds, so I can go back and figure out holes I am playing poorly in a consistent manner, so I can change course management. They also use GPS functionality similar to the Sky Caddie, and I believe it will track distance off the GPS, so I may pick up a Bluetooth GPS for my palm and track distance next year.

But after over 2000 I can't post links to some...experimenting videos I did!? I'm hurt.

Once again, call me old school, but all my stats are written down in notebooks.

I have been perfecting a simple spreadsheet that will track all my vital stats, i. e. fairways, GIR, putts, scrambles etc. I also want to track shot distances, especially approaches and pitch/chip distances so I know what my yardages are. Unfortunately, this is very time consuming to do during a round, and I can't let myself hold up play just to track stats that probably won't help me that much. I wish I had a caddie who would write this stuff down for me as I played (and read my putts/gave me distances/told me "Sweet shot, chief" after ever shot.)

But videos of you hooking up with medium sized farm animals have nothing to do with golf.
