I'm gonna play a different course Sunday

as I'm tired of playing the ones right around here. I think I'll drive up to Saluda, SC (40 miles) and play Persimmon Hill. At one time, the 18th there was the longest par 5 in the state, at 600 yards.

Supposed to be clear and 70F here. I'll be thinking about you guys in the frozen north.

Do you know the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? The porcupine has its' pricks on the outside.

Very nice. I usually play at the local muni course about 5 minutes from my house. But today, me and my cousin drove about 30 minutes to Bethpage State Park and played the yellow course. Man, that's a beautiful course, can't imagine what the other 4 courses look like.

I think a good majority of the frozen north will be in the mid 50's on Sunday. Supposed to be 56 here Sunday and 63 on Monday.

Persimmon Hill turned out to be a nice little course: only 6405 from the whites, 6925 from the blues. But a lot of the holes were TIGHT. I hit a lot of 3 woods off the tee. The greens were kind of small: real target golf.

Two of the par 3s were 200+ yards, so 5 wood there (left my 3 iron in the car). 60* lob wedge came in real handy.

Greens and fairways were actually GREEN, as they were bermuda overseeded with winter rye. Lots of water: in play on 7/18 holes.

#18 is still the longest golf hole in the state at 630 yards from the blues.

Shot an 89, not too bad for my first time on this course. I had fun and will definitely play it again.

Managed to get out on the course even though my Mother-in-law was in town for the weekend. One good thing about going to a course where it is pretty scenic. She rode along with one of our neighbors while my wife and I played. Beautiful day. Shot an 83. Two of my best 3 rounds this year were when she went out with us, one here and one in Colorado. Try and figure that one out.

That's awesome, luckily we have enough courses around here that I don't get too terribly bored with them. Then again, my home course is so very hard to get bored with.
