Exotic and Warbird?

I havent been on in awhile but I see warbirdlover has gone to a different driver already.I was here a month to two ago and he was gushing about his new TE Exotic. What happened?I only ask because I am wanting to possibly go to the exotic next season.

I traded him the TEE for my Cleveland Launcher 460. I had a HiBore on the way, so it needed to go. In the meantime, WBL found a Ping Rapture and hasn't looked back.

The TEE is a great driver. Long and straight when meshed with the right shaft. If I had to go buy one right now, I'd get one matched with an Aldila NVS. That, would be a rocket launcher.

so in warbirds opinion the rapture is better? And you are using the hibore with the exotic as the backup?Im curious as to the differences since these are two of the three I am comparing to [along with the sasquatch] and I am still pretty novice at the club ho business

The TEE is gonzo. Too much loft for me (at 10.5*). I have no backup, just the Tour Hibore.

The Rapture seems to be WBL's winner. I've never hit one, probably never will (personal opinion of Ping stand in the way).

There's a new TEE driver coming out next spring. Look for it to be released at the PGA show, along with a Tour version.

You should go out and hit all of them, then get the one that gives you the best results.

Thanks for the info I will be on the lookout for the new T.E.E. As you can tell I like the TE brand, but am still new at this and now that I am gaining a bit of consistancy I am looking into pricier toys.As forthe hibore it is hard to read the reviews and come away with an opinion. They are either loved or hated.

I think with the Hibore, you have to be fitted properly, and hit the ball properly (ie: tee it low). It's a great driver if you like straight drives.

I just picked up a Tour Edge Exotics 3 wood, and it's super long. It's damn near as long as my driver. I'm going to keep my eyes open for a 5 wood, because this thing is too good to leave my bag.

I know what you mean by a straight driver, I tried to cut the Hibore and it would only fly straight, and it even looked like it wanted to cut but it was fighting it. Strangest ball flight I have ever seen.

You can cut and draw it fairly easily, the key is teeing the ball lower. That way, it controls the shot more consistently, rather than just spraying it out there high in the face.

Great driver tho.

I kept teeing it higher since I wanted my launch angle to be in that so called perfect area. I think i will demo it when I get down to florida and see if I can hook or slice it while teeing it low.

Rock when you tee the ball lower do you also play the ball further back in your stance? I feel like I'm hitting my Hi-bore fine but extra distance is always a bonus.

The teeing lower comment was specific to the HiBore. It's the physics of the head that determine this. The low spin characteristics of the head require you to spin the ball a little more, hence the low tee. No spin = zero carry.

To maximize launch in any other 400+ head, you should tee it higher and catch is slightly more out towards the toe.

For the HiBore, Adam, I tee the ball about 1" in from the back of my left foot. That gives me the best launch conditions for my swing. I never, ever change the position of the ball with my driver, even into the wind. But that's me...

I'm set for 2007. The only thing I might add is a 5w.
