New Shoes

got the erge to get some new golf shoes today.i had to go to work and call in since there was nothing to do.that put me half way to town.so instead of wasting gas to drive to work and make a phone call then drive home.(they have caller id).i figured golf shoes ought to be on sale so ill go get some.

anyway i bought a pair of FJ Dry Ice for $80.i remeber them coming out last yr and they were like $150 so i figured what to hell.

I haven't had a pair of Foot Joys I didn't like. The only reason I'm using Adidas now is I prefer the style, and I got them from normally 150+ to 40(sale+employee discount).

Not sure what type you had, but once you get to the Dry Joys, Dry Ice and the ones that normal run upwards of $80-100 they are very nice shoes, and my prefered shoe. I agree though, the cheaper models leave alot to be desired IMO.

I too saw the Dry Ice and some of the Dry Joys at Dicks for $79, unfortunately I have bigger feet, and usually only buy black golf shoes because they look smaller and the heels do not show scuff marks, as white ones do. They didn't have any black ones where I went.

I just picked up some Adidas Traxxion Z's normal price was 120.00 and i picked them up for 64.00 shipped. I used to only wear FJ but I bought a pair of adidas for just range shoes and fell in love. I have four pairs that i alternate with depending on what I am wearing (damn, that sounded kind of girly)

Nothing wrong with that. I have four pair myself; all black, black saddle, all brown, brown saddle. Current breakdown is three FJs and a Nike. Each pair is fanastically comfortable (custom orthotics will do that for you) so it is just matter of what I'm wearing that day and what the weather is like.

Right now I'm trying to decide whether or not I want an all white pair...

I have a pair of DryJoy pro's. Won't buy another pair of FJ's again. My heels are killing me by halfway through the round. I also do not have a wide foot, seems they are all made for wide feet. I have a pair of Adidas that are much more comfotable. Unfortunately they are Climacools so I can only wear them in the summer. Seems a lot of people are happy with the FJ's though, I'll bet most of them ride. Anyway, I hope they are better for you than they have been for me.

Just making sure you knew they come in different Widths. W or M. Did you get the Wide? They also have an "N" for narrow, but I don't think the Dryjoys come in narrow.

They also now have one called a realfit with a dial on the back. Looks kind of weird but may help.

Actually for walking I use Bites, I use the Footjoys primarily for the cart as you mentioned.

yeah i was going to get a pair of FJ X_Dimensions or something like that that were all black but only had 2 pair 8`s & 9`s.ive always owned FJ Greenjoys.

but i got the Dry Ice at Dick`s for $80.so i figure for 1/2 price they were worth a shot.

i own 3 pairs of golf shoes but 2 of them are in the trash lol.i got these in 11W because my others were reg. width and after 2 yrs.they start to seperate from the sole.i figured it must be from the stress because my feet are a little wide.

If you even partially "like" the Greenjoys, you should love the Dry Ice. Big difference. One of my first pairs of shoes were the Cheaper FJ's and it kind of turned me off on the shoes, they stretched out considerably also. The Dry Ice is what got me back into liking the shoes when I found a pair on sale. I always had a problem with spending more than $40 on any kind of shoe, and usually buy last years trend. I have no problem with spending more on golf shoes. What's wrong with this picture, all my life I have kept a pair of Boots, a Pair of Sneakers, and a Pair of Dress shoes. I keep like 4 pairs of Golf shoes, I guess it is so I can be lazy and only change the spikes every so often.

My wife keeps telling me to get a pair of Ecco's, which she buys and they run over $100. But I told her I really wouldn't need anything more comfortable than what I buy, and being able to get them on sale for 1/2 the cost this time of the year is great. I just need to visit a couple other Dicks stores to try and find Black.

edit 1 - Then again, it seems anymore I wear out a pair of golf shoes in 1/2 the time of any others.

You know, the FJ's are for the medium to wider foot, whereas the Adidas tend to fit better on the narrow to medium foot. I like the style of the A's but they are always a bit too snug for me. That does not stop me from trying them on every time I go to the shop. Maybe they will feel good one day.

Some may think it's kind of wierd with me sometimes, but I tend to notice all things related to my golf game from the bottom of my feet to the top of my head. I mean, I know the shoes that work for me --FJ, the socks I like--Adidas Clima lite, the collared shirts -- Adidas clima lite, even the baseball type hats I wear are not cotton, as they tend to shrink during the season so I try and avoid them. I really do not have a belt preference, but if I find a good one...Anyway, being comfortable in my own "skin" helps allay one more psychological aspect of my game. What do you think?

Nothing wrong with that IMO. I usually only buy Cutter Buck or Ashworth for comfort, and I really do play better in Black shoes. The only thing I see when I hit are usually my feet the club and the ball. Scuffy White shoes on Bluto feet can be distracting and just not make me feel as good standing over the ball. No different than the top view on my irons. Although I have recently added Under Armor fleeces and polo shirts to my prefered Golfing garb. They are just too light, comfortable and warm to overlook during the winter.
