Need an excuse to golf tomorrow!

Ok, I need to get out there tomorrow or perhaps Friday. I'm leaving Sunday on vacation and I want to get one more round in. Problem is I work an office job. It's dead slow and I've spent the last three days worth of lunch time at the range and I'm feeling good about my swing. I just wanna play dammit!

So here's the deal: a) I have no more vacation time, b) I could call in sick and say I'm working from home, c) I could request working from home today for tomorrow, d) what else???

Nothing is getting done at work, I'm not the only one that feels like this. Everyone has been taking extended lunches and surfing the net. A select few are working or at least talking about work (again, I'm in neither category). Everyone seems to be on holiday mode. The weather in CT has been sunny so far and mildly cold. We're supposed to get some rain later in the week, so I'm trying to avoid that.

So, any ideas for me? Let em rip!

Just call in sick I guess. I don't have to worry that much about it, I have enough days off. I could have worked a few hours today but I've been feeling like crap (headache and chills) since I went traipsing (sp?) around in that swamp to find your balls.

So I have the day off today and no golf. I might play Fri. or Sat. if there is no work. Just got another new driver but don't even feel like taking it to the range. I was smoking the current one last round... don't want to screw that up. Good luck with getting out. If you go on Fri. I might be able to make it to join you.

Just call in sick and take the day off without pay if you don't have any vacation time left.

Yeah I guess I could do that. It's only one day it's not going to kill me.

Go in to work in the morning and arrange for a friend to ring up at an agreed time. At that time you be out of the office getting something from the car. One of your colleagues will take a message for you, so have your friend tell them that's there's a family emergency and your needed at home. Something simple like your wifes mum has to go to hospital and you've got to look after the kids. (You make this bit up). easy.

Kind of depends on what you do for a living:

Not a good idea to bug out if you're an air traffic controller or a trauma surgeon. If you are a dermatologist, who cares? Let them itch.

I hurried through my work this morning so I could get to the range at lunchtime. I figured if I could learn to hit the hybrids I bought last month, I could talk myself out of buying a new set of irons.

I'm planning on playing Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. I'm depressed that no golf course will be open on Monday. I guess I'll practice my lob shots in the front yard.

Dead grandma?

Usually good for 2 or 3 get out of work free cards. Any more than that looks fishy, unless you are from Alabama, then it could be your grandma/sister/cousin and that's three right there.

According to Larry the Cable Guy, if you live in Alabama or Arkansas your grandma/sister/cousin could all be the same person. That's only 1 freebie!!!! LOL

When all else fails and the bind you are in is

serious, try AMNESIA. You do what you have to do, and you say something like, "I cannot remember anything from 1987 to the present!" The downside of this is that you are really going to have to lie a lot, and you better be good at it. Again, the use of AMNESIA in such situations is a last resort and considerable skill is involved. Definitely not for the novice.

Sincerely, Cypressperch
