Global GOlf Rocks!!

This may not be the correct forum and if not please move.

I have to say that one of Shot Talks newest sponsors, Global Golf is a great place to do business. I ordered a Titleist 905R and a Nickent 4w on this past Friday (12/22) and I got them today. They were exactly as advertised and in immaculate condition. While I did notice that I am only an hour away from their business office which is in Raleigh, NC, this is still extremely fast service considering that I placed the order not only on a Friday, but on a long weekend with Christmas being yesterday.

I am sure going to recommend them whole heartedly to anyone and look forward to getting my Titleist 7w that I ho'd from them yesterday morning.

Yeah I already got my tracking #, it might take a little longer to get my club though, seeing as how I am all the way across the country.

Yes, they are good. I bought an R7425 for $113 and an R5TP for $110 both in a solid 8 condition. I even somehow ended up with the magnetic TP headcover for the R5, even though I don't think it was listed as coming with one. Always the first place I look for something new, used.

What did you score the 905R for?

It was a "demo" that evidently was never hit by anyone. $229 The Nickent 4w was "mint" and only $59

They have a 905S that is calling my name. I already have one that I just put in a 757 Tour Spec in but i want one with a stock speeder that I can chop down too a 44" before I hack up my player.

Global Golf may have sent me a Tour version Titleist 980F for cheap. I'm having it authenticated by Titleist soon. It looks too good to be a fake.

Stock speeder is actually a real good shaft in the Titleist drivers

I agree its a good shaft, the tip section is a little too soft for me though. Plus finding one in a X-stiff isnt very fun either.

Have you tried the X-Stiff before?

Yes, but I swap all of my shafts out to a real 757 Speeder Tour Spec X-Stiff. I do not like the feel but it has great accuracy I know Titleist uses a Speeder similar to the 757,the Titleist Speeder is identical except for the 3.0*tq on the tip compared to 2.5*tq on the 757 Tour Spec. So it supposedly plays similar to say a regular 1.5" shaft insersertion on a 757 Speeder compared to a 3.25" Bore-Through on the Titleist Speeder. When I hit a 905R w/titleist speeder in stiff it was a hook monster but the feel was great, I then tried a 905R w/speeder in x-stiff and it felt a little stiff but it was accurate (keep in mind my swing speed is 115 - 117 mph and ball speed is 165 mph). I tried the V2 and that felt nasty. So I went with a custom made 905R w/757 Speeder Tour Spec X-stiff. I have no confidence with the club because the feel of it is so nasty and I am a little too spuratic with my drives so I have been using my Taylormade 320 with a Fujikura Vista Pro 70 Tipped 1" in Stiff and I hit a little shorter but I have tons of confidence in the club.

The only problem with this is I am sure that the head of the 905R is heavier than my 320 since the 905R is 460cc compared to 320cc of the TM. Plus the 905R has a 3.25" hozle and the 320 is 1.5" I am going to try and find a really good clubfitter out here and see if they can figure it out. The stock Speeder shaft is looking better and better since it shares the same characteristics of the Vista Pro 70 (Titleist Speeder is 8g heavier) except mine is a 44". This is why I might pick up a used 905S or 905R with a stock speeder and chop 1" off of it.

The only reason why I wanted to update my driver was too take advantage of up-to-date technology. I am not sure what the COR or MOI is of the old TM 320 but I am sure the 905R is greater. I might even give a NV65 a shot.

Buying shafts really sucks, you never know what you are going to get untill after you throw down a boat load of money.
