Thread: Who will challenge Tiger in 2007?

  1. #1

Who will challenge Tiger in 2007?

So who's gonna make the biggest impression on the US tour this season and will somebody actually challenge Tiger for the seasons money list?

Is there a brand new emerging talent coming from the college game or maybe making the step up from the Nationwide tour? Or an ametuer golfer ready to break through like Tiger did?

Maybe the monster hitting Bubba Watson, Camilo Villegas & JB Holmes will come good this season now they've had a full years experiance on tour?

Will Luke Donald & Paul Casey challenge week in week out on the US tour and push for the majors?

Maybe the old 'young guns' like Sergio Garcia and Charlie Howell III will at last make the most of their talents?

More than likly gonna be Tiger all the way but whos your outsider/new comer?

For me the one European who has the lot and is on the up is Henrik Stenson, hopefully he will play a lot more on the US tour this season and maybe even challenge for a major although that maybe a couple of seasons away yet.

I dont think anyone is going to play consistently up to his level. I think many of the players are going to win tournaments but when Tiger is on it is a battle for 2nd place.

    Ian Baker Finch...hehehe
When asked how to put back spin on a i7,
Trevino said how far do you hit it?
The guy said 120yds and Trevino said why do you want to back it up?

  7. The new FedEx Cup seems to made for both Tiger and Phil's traditional scheduling. It would not surprise me to see Phil take the first FedEx cup ever. The young gun that impresses me the most is Villegas. He seems to have that killer instinct when he is in the hunt on Sunday and a more complete game than Bubba and most of the other gunners.

That being said, if I had to put my own money down on this I would have to go with Tiger. The only thing that stands in Tiger's way seems to be swing changes, and as far as I have heard, there are no changes in the works.

Not only did John Daly loose his tour card, he took last at the Target World Challenge. Which last few rounds are you referring to? Daly is done! He's lost is desire to compete.

Nobody can compete with Tiger when he's on his game. It's a matter of who comes to the front when he's not, and who plays the best when he's not in the field.

Chris DiMarco is probably the least intimidated by Tiger, and Furyk is the most consistent next to Tiger, but golf has always been a game of where it's someone new every week, Tiger has just changed that and people expect someone to come along and do the same. If someone is capable of that then it's going to be like Tiger, where he dominates from an early age, and everyone knows him when he's like 10! Anybody know anybody out there like that? Olie Fisher? GIve me a break!

He has the money to lose the drive. And I think that he just is enjoying his golden years(I can't imagine he'll live long), with his next wife, who isn't born yet methinks.

  15. Phil would be my 2007 pick. If I heard it correctly, Phil has been getting in better physical shape. Hopefully, he doesn't end up like Duval; win a major and fall off the face of the earth.
