I found a new home

I found a great course today that I am going to call home. Only had time to do 9 holes, but what a well maintained place this is...

The members there seem to all have one foot on a bannana peal and the other foot in the grave, but what a nice bunch of blue haired old goat they were.. LOL

I had one guy come up to me while I was hitting a bucket of balls and show me something that I never seen before when it came to hitting the ball. I immediately saw a dramitic improvement...

I didn't play all that great, a 47 on the front 9, but I never played this course before either and out of the 4 of us, the best score was a 42 and these guys have been playing for better than 25 yrs.
What amazed me about today was the consistancy I was playing at. I'm not sure if it was because I was playing with season golfers or if it was the way the course was laid out, but had I play the full 18 at the rate I was playing... I would have played in the 90's.
Did I mention how pretty the course was laid out ? I can't wait until spring when things turn green...

Oh the name of the place... Pine Creek, it features 6,676 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.5 and it has a slope rating of 124.

It was a good day

"Blue haired old goats..."??? Tell ya what, sonny! In my day...

Did I ever tell you how fast I was when I was a kid? Played baseball, I did, and played it well. Recruited out of high school by 3 or 4 major league teams... all because of my speed. Then I hurt my elbow. Yep... so fast that I hit a line drive through the pitcher's legs, headed right at second base. I was so fast, the line drive hit me in the elbow as I was sliding into second base. Now... that's fast!!!! LOL

Sounds like a great course to call home. Once you get settled in, we all expect an invite and a round on you so you can show off the course... and you new-found skills... to us!

Now now... I don't mean to sound offensive to you old goats... but at 46 and already turning grey and white haired, being called "Sir" and the usual stuff ya face when society decides your no longer young... I found it very amuzing to be called a youngster... hahahaha

BTW, If you find yourself in my area... I would be more than glad to play a round with you... I might even get the polish out and shine your walker a bit...

Since it wasn't raining today and I had a rain check for 9 holes, I decided to go back and finish my game. I think I should have just relished the glory of yeterdays 9 holes... The back 9 is conciderably tougher than the front 9 and shot a 50. Keep in mind that I never played this course before and it was windy as hell.

If I didn't punish myself enough with the back 9, I decided to play the front 9 again. I had to see how much of a fluke my game was yesterday, I shot a 52, it was ugly... but over all I shot a 102, not bad for me.
