Sounds a little like my younger brother's story a dozen years back or so. He put it all together and is doing great these days.

'Course, he went back to his ex . . . .

Seriously, don't let the bad times get you down. We all go through 'em and they make us part of what we become.

Or some sort of bakery item.

I've been living on my own since I was 18. My choice, tho.

Ahhh, you'll be alright. I'm about to be 31 in March. 5 classes shy of my college degree, no intentions of going back. Crap job, no health insurance, no car (using my GF's) and up to eyeballs in debt so bad I just stopped paying everything but the rent.

One bit of advice... put the apartment before the Imprezza and only have one bag of 14 clubs at a time (short transition period is OK). You'll be alright, sometimes you need a little break to figure out what direction to go. I know, I am still taking mine.

Well, put on that friggin tux in your avatar, play some golf, be yourself and some chicky will follow you around. If you care about being single, you'll stay single. Just be completely content, chicks dig that. Guys that are secure are far more attractive to women than men that pretend to be someone they're not.

But you can always fall back on the tart.

Just don't bring her home to mom and dad for a shag. That ain't right.

I'm on the UP now at last I think. I'm saving up for the car and hoping to get my own place agin in the summer. I'm Kicking off the thirties by going to play Fairhaven links tomorrow, it's just round the corner from Lytham St.Annes and is a qualifyier for the Open. It's meant to be the dogs danglies So I'll take a few pictures and post them this week. After the golf I'm going to see my little Boy for a couple of hours before hitting the town on a Tuesday night and I've not done that since I was a student going back 12 years or so, who knows I may meet a cheap tart?

You gotta love that phrase. I may have to start using it. I can always say it's British, so I don't understand it.

I wouldn't know where to begin hitting the town these days. I think I'd just have to remember to take it slowly. It'd be too easy for me to overdo it too quickly.

Been there, done that twice!! You're turning 30 and I'm going to be 60. Don't worry about things "SON". Believe it or not, you're really young and your best years (40's) are ahead of you. That's when you got some bucks and confidence. And if you find a tart make SURE she's got $$$$ or is an only child and her parents do!!!

And it's not to late to start a business! I see business opening up that put people's stuff on E-bay. They have no overhead and just take a percentage and do all the shipping. If you want to have money don't work for someone else, college degree or not.

I've got a friend that I met (lived next to inlaws) that took his unemployment check and started an "aquatic nursery" because he had worked for another one. I won't go into details but he's built a new multi-million dollar building and store and his house is a new million dollar mansion on the top of hill overlooking 20 acres. He throws a party every summer and I get to stay overnight there.

Okay, I'll get off the podium now.... (old people like to advise)...

I've been there once about 5 years ago. No child support, no spousal support, and I have primary custoday (51/49) of my son. I'm considered a posterboy for a divorced male in California. Divorced men usually get shafted here. Lost love but at least I walked into the sunset smiling.

Have a great birthday! Put the 'hiccups' life gives you aside for a day. Enjoy YOUR day!

Living back home? I thought that was the way things were done. All 3 of our kids left home and then came back for a time. All 3, now, are on their own and we don't expect them back again... but they know the door is always open. Our one daughter married too young and moved back home twice in the first 6 months after marriage. When she moved back with the son-in-law after the second split, I told her that was it. Dad wasn't helping her move her stuff any more. She either needed to work things out... permanently... or give it up. They recently celebrated their 10th anniversary and are, finally, doing well. YOU TOO will have your own life that will play out to your benefit. Just learn from your mistakes and move forward.

Again... Happy Birthday!! Hit 'em straight!!
