Re: Sneak Peak at Sunset Beach Wedges

I have a ballpark figure in my head they will be between 120 - 170 depending upon all options you select and the finish. I will have either one or two shaft choices and we will have chrome, raw, and colored polymer finishes. Our polymer finishes will hold up as good or better than chrome.

I am planning on having two bounce options on each wedge loft. Depending upon how they turn out.

52, 56, 60 are the lofts we will offer.

For USGA purposes right now I am using a U groove.

These heads are forged from carbon steel. They are then milled for weight and flatness on the face.

I have two other wedge designs, and five iron designs on my computer, I have seen mock-ups of my irons in 5 iron only format, but those are still a ways off.

Depending upon how my wedges do(which I think people have been dying for a black finish that will actually hold up, so they should do well) is how quickly other wedge designs and iron designs come out.

I only have 18 total heads coming in to test the market. 6 of each loft and two of those are in chrome, the raw ones can be left raw or you can opt for a polymer coating on them.

I expect them sometime at the end of April and will post more info soon.

Thanks,

I agree. Satin/White Steel is much nicer. I play chrome wedges, only because I had no choice.

Re: Sneak Peak at Sunset Beach Wedges

if you can do them in black that doesn't ware off the first range session I'd be interested. also they look a lot like TM RAC wedges to me.

They look a lot like... a lot of wedges, really.

They do look nice, but I can't see why I'd pay more money for something like that than a CG12, or a RAC, or a Vokey, y'know? If I can get a great wedge for 50$, let alone 110$, why would I pay 170$?

I just don't understand...

Same premise as the SC, I guess.

Well 170 would be way on the high end depending upon what a customer wants. KBS Tour shafts retail for about 25.00 each, a black finish that won't fall off to add to your current wedge is at least 50.00 for a refinish, having someone stamp and paintfill to your choice is gonna cost you 25.00 or more. So if you really start to add it up and depending upon choices my "RANGE" is not that high. If you can get a great wedges with a finish that holds up for 50.00 then more power to you. I cannot find one. I like black wedges, always have, but after one time on the range the black finish is fading off.

My black finish will not wear off and will have the staying power of chrome or better. Yeah I will sell standard wedges for around what everyone else does, but I do not lock it down and stamp all over and paintfill it or clean it up and put a black finish that won't fall of for free. So depending upon what you want there is a wide range of options and pricing.

It is a turn-off for you and for me, I like black wedges, which I will offer and a few other colors(see first post). However the majority of ALL wedges sold in the US are in chrome.

Maybe that is because there are no options for the customer that will last in anything else. I am only doing a small run this time a few will be chromed and most will be raw. I can take the raw and put a color on it(color list to come soon) that will not wear off or be a high polish.

However just because you and I do not like them does not mean I will not sell them I have to get a good grip on what the people want when given an option that will not wear off.

An address pic would be great, if you don't mind posting one.

No, Sorry. I learned my lesson with my lefty putters. Every lefty but one of the ten confirmed I am going to buy one of your lefty putters disappeared and I am still sitting on them with no end in site. Plus I ordered some extras.

I was told by quite a few people already in the industry to not do lefties I would sit on them for at least 6 months and I did them anyway, and it has almost been 6 months.

Long story short, no more lefties from me.

Re: Sneak Peak at Sunset Beach Wedges

They look beautiful, it is great to see someone making something truly custom. Most of us will never see the inside of a tour van or golf factory nor have the chance to have something so unique. Keep up the great work I hope to be able to buy some of your work in the new future (depending on economy).

Wel will be doing these as heads only for these prototypes only. When the wedges are released into production they will be completed clubs. I should have pricing up in the next couple of days.
