Tiger in final group

I am actually surprised he is 2nd right now. After he finished bogey-bogey I was willing to write him off. I just can't believe how poorly everyone else is playing. Tiger basically did nothing today except stay even and everyone else came back to him, amazing.

I think it was more of the course then the T-factor today.

I'm a big Tiger fan and was actually counting him out.

Robert

Tiger played great today. He shot a 72 in wicked conditions. That course isa so tough right now it's insane. The guys were saying there are only like 5 holes that you can attempt a birdie run.

The course was brutal. Cold and windy with greens that are like putting on kitchen linoeleum. The margins for error at Augusta are razor thin, and today that razor's edge was sharpened even more to draw blood from almost everyone.

Oh don't write him off lad...as I said yesterday - he's got them right where he wants them.

Tell me he's going to lose playing in the final group tomorrow.

I heard the average score was something over 77. Tiger's even par round was a great round but Retief's 2 under round was just phenomonal!

He sounded pretty pissed with himself in the interview at the end of the round (for the second day running).

I wish they had interviewed him again at the end of the day when the others had come down to his score and worse.

Tiger must have breathed a huge sigh of relief when they all came back to him. Being in the second or third final match would not have been in his game plan. Mind you, he must be a little concerned in how he's finishing off. For the three rounds played thusfar, he's +3 for holes 17 and 18. Still, I wouldn't bet against him not getting it 'right on the night' so to speak.

BTW, what's with Appleby. He looked an absolute mess. Needs a haircut. Trousers at half-mast. Black sweater on brown trousers. And, my absolute sartorial pet hate - an open-necked shirt spread out flat. The white t-shirt didn't add to the ensemble either (yes, I know it was cold).

I reckon the good ol' boys at Augusta must be gleefully wringing their hands that they've managed to thusfar subdue the creme de la creme of the golfing world. I daresay there are those who would rather watch a birdie-fest but at the end of the day, it is supposed to be one of the top events in the golfing calendar. The exam should be set accordingly.

In any event, watching them struggle around the par mark makes imo for much more exciting viewing as there tends to be more of them in the mix.

Can't wait for tonight!
