Thumbs down Eldrick "too tired" to play in Barclay's

"Tiger" Woods will not play in 1st Fed Ed Cup event. Is petitioning court to have name changed to "Pussycat" Woods.

Ben Hogan spins in grave. Dirt is a flyin' everywhur! I think old Ben is a tryin' to get out and get some of that thur money. say caretaker at Hogan gravesite.

Tim Finchem has chest pains, goes to hospital, where "heart attack" is diagnosed as severe gas pains. Is given 12 gallons of Maalox rectally. Says Tim: I still have a pain, except now it's in my ass.

If Elin has something to do with that I don't blame him. I'd stay home and play "that" instead too!!

So if Tiger is declining to play in the Barclays, can he still win the Fedex cup? Is is by points, so he is still official right?

I was listening to XM today, and the announcers were saying if Tiger skipped the first two, he could still win it.

I'm not sure what is going to me more embarrassing to the organizers - Woods showing what he thinks of their competition by not showing up for bits of it, or him winning the whole thing without needing to compete in every round.

Still, imagine if he turned up for the first three rounds, had it in the bag, and the 'climax to the entire season' became a total lame duck?

Just goes to show that no matter how much the PGA attempts to inject excitement into the end of the season, once the Majors end, the season is over for all intents and purposes.

This news doesnt surprise me at all.

Yea, the seeding is done by the current points for the first (or first two?) events, then the points restart, obv if he wins one or two of them and the rest in the top 5 he'll win np at all.

That's how I've always felt about it. The only ones the Fedex Cup matters to are the "mid pack" players. The top players that look to the majors as an indication of success or failure of their season could really care less.

I don't blame Tiger for taking some time off. I was expecting it and if I were him I'd do the same.

This is like a football player not going to the Pro Bowl after the season/Super Bowl.

I don't see how anyone can blame him for skipping a completely contrived event.

I really wish the players would back the idea more and try to help it. Because a playoff system is a great idea, but if nobody backs it now, then it will never last long enough to become a better system.

The thing digger, nobody, including Tiger in the real world of golf will ever care too much about the Fedex Cup. 40 years from now there's going to be another young amazing player whose going to come out and light it up, and he wont be chasing "how many Fedex Cups Tiger won"...

No, he'll be chasing either Tiger's major total (whatever that may be), or somehow if Tiger doesn't break it (hahahahahahahahhahaha, ahhhh, wat a joke), Jack's 18.

Nobody will ever care about the Fedex cup past the money part of it, the 4 majors, and a couple of the other big events during THE MAIN part of the season (past that the Tour Champ as well, even then...).

I actually hope that he wins the middle two and then goes on vacation again.
