I think ernie els is an amazing golfer, and to call him your" average pro " is an insult.

He just needed a little bump and I think hes ready again.

Phil is a lefty, and chokes any time under pressure, especially if tiger is around. Ernie just beat on himself.

Right On

It's been said. Tiger's year is insanely great right now. Love Ernie. But Tiger is ridiculous good.

Addendum

Ernie is so much more than an average pro. He has the talent to do something amazing this year. Tiger or no.

I'm with Lyle on this one. Ernie these days is an average pro way past his prime. It's one thing 'beating your demons' in a minor event against a second rate field, but getting the job done when placed under the microscope by the worlds best is another thing entirely (as Ernie found out in Dubai). Until Ernie holds it together with Tiger breathing down his neck he has proven nothing.

IMO Ernie will not seriously contend any majors this year and will not win any more events unless the big guns decide the tournament isn't worth winning. Tigers only serious competition this year could come from Lefty if he gets his sh!t together again, or from left field like Johnson and Cabrera last year (didn't include Harrington as he didn't have to contend with Tiger on a Sunday leaderboard and only had to beat Sergio, who once again did a great job of beating himself).
