Do you know the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? The porcupine has its pricks on the outside.

I'd love to, but the GF is going and it's her car. She has already threatened to leave me by the side of the road.

You're probably most excited about #4.

Update:

GF and I went to the Ginn on Sunday. Sorry, no pictures. Rather than bore you with a wordy description, I'll just give you snippets.

Honda Accord V6 are great. We drove from Augusta to Charleston and back on 11 gallons of gas. Amazing. 29.6 mpg from a V6 using regular gas with an average speed including stops of 49.8 mph on mostly 2 lane blacktop.

Saw wild turkey and deer on the way. Didn't hit any.

For some reason, probably weather, they started the last round early and on split tees, so we didn't get to see all of the players.

Damn, it was hot and sunny. 95°F in the afternoon, but there was a good breeze. Otherwise we would have left early.

Beautiful course (River Towne), but non-walkable. They were shuttling the players and caddies between greens and tees on many holes.

These girls can hit the ball!! I know it's hard to estimate distances, and they were not playing from the longest tees, but everyone I saw was driving the ball a long way. For women, an amazingly long way.

We followed Christie Kerr, Pat Hurst, and Mhairi McKay for a few holes. Pat Hurst looks like she has lost some weight. Christie Kerr is really pretty. M&M is so pale that she looks like a vampire. How does she not sunburn?

All 3 of these players were using PING G10 drivers. Christie Kerr kissed hers after hitting a bomb. I saw lots of PING staff bags.

The Korean girls are tiny, and many are quite pretty. Many of them dress "European" style and look very nice.

They were playing in 3 somes and for the most part played fast. Until they got to the greens, then they slowed ......way..............down.

These girls are not afraid to go for the green on par 5s. Pat Hurst missed left, and had to take a penalty. She still made par. Christie Kerr missed right, into a bunker, and still made birdie. M&M laid up, and lipped out a putt for bogey.

Damn, it was hot.

Paula Creamer and Natalie Gulbis were hot, too. By this time, we had parked ourselves in the bleachers by #18 green. The girls were hitting their 2nd shots on a 431 yard par 4 into a stiff breeze. They were hitting irons 180-200 yards, and most were hitting the green.

Creamer stiffed that little pink ball to 4 feet and made the birdie putt.

Natalie was dressed all in black, and watching her walk ...........how does she do that? She must have had modeling lessons as a child. I thiks she made a par, but I was in a trance, so who knows?

Hitting bad shots loses tournaments (ask Sophie Gustafson, who was spraying the ball all over and into the seagrass) but putting wins tournaments. Seon Hwa Lee poured that putt on #18 into the cup from the fringe to take the lead. Karrie Webb had to birdie to tie, and she drained a 10 footer and gave a big fist pump.

On the playoff, she had almost the same putt to win and left it way short. Then missed the tieing par putt. All over just like that.

The hot dogs were good.

All in all, lots of fun. I'm saving my pennies, because next year I want to play in the Pro-Am.

That was a big time choke from Webb, leaving it short is a dead giveaway that you gagged. I didn't realise it was the same putt as she had during regulation. That makes the choke even worse. They must breed chokers in Queensland, although Webb has proved herself to be a much better closer in majors than her compatriot the great white shark.
