No Driver?

What is the world coming to? Lefty left his driver out of the bag?

Could it be he is actually going to play it safe this Open?

I thought it was a smart move considering his accuracy with the driver. Funny thing is the time I saw him hit his 3w he pulled it in to the boonies.

looked like a smart move beforehand, not now! 11/14 fairways, the same as Tiger with the big stick...

11 of 14 isn't too bad. I think a 11.5 degree 3 wood is a smart move. He was only 15-20 yards behind Woods and Scott and 11/14 is better than he would have got with his driver. If the wind picks up the Driver will be back in. I like Phil's approaches to Majors though he won with two drivers at Augusta now he's trying it without one, top man.

You have to understand that Phil hits cuts. He's not comfortable hitting driver draws. Torrey requires a lot of righty fades, which of course is a draw for a lefty. I'll gauruntee he went to that club because he can work a draw a lot better with it and it opened the spot for the 64* to go in.
