Van de Velde is in the door @ +4 after 2 rounds... now that's great shooting

€2.50 each way @ 250/1 on Phillip Walton being the leading GB/Ire player ...*sigh* .. if yer bothered check his score...

Hats off to Villegas .. showing some substance to his game -4 on the day, with 4 birds on the trot *update* 5 birds

Villegas makes five straight birds to finish the 2nd round at 65. Well done!

No doubt easier conditions today, although afternoon players may get it tougher as forecast is not great.

Superb finish from Villegas, covert round by Furyk. Damn, should have stuck some dosh on him. Norman is nothing short of inspirational. Superb golf, just rock solid all day. Woody Austin looks like a real twitchy bastard! CAmera showed him walking down the fairway for a few minutes, looks like the dude was having a fit, shaking his arms, twitching his head, non stop.

I predict the cut will be +6.

Gone a bit squally out there now - Mr Villegas will enjoy his lunch even more seeing that I think. The guys who are just going out now had the worst of it yesterday too, I thnk there'll be a few rueful glances to the skies before they are done today.

Great to see Rocco and Norman doing well.

You just cannot beat watching these guys tackle links golf, great stuff.

Some say that golf is like life. Some say "nonsense!"

Well, life's not fair. And it damn sure isn't fair that the poor sots who battled the weather in the morning yesterday, have to battle it again today.

I love the British Open.

I love the British Open.
It's a great metaphor for life no doubt, you can see the bottlers, quitters and hissy fit crew and then watch courage, determnation and grace in others.

You love what by the way? Did you mean "THE OPEN"??????

He's still a hack
That hack shot a 65 today. And how about Norman, Watson, and Mediate? Who would have thunk it? And Furyk had a good round. My picks really suck as usual............LOL.

I've heard that it's common practice in Europe to call it the "U.S. Masters," to distinguish it from:

The Volvo Masters
The Evian Masters
The European Masters
The ANZ Ladies Masters
The SAS Masters
The Scandinavian Masters
The Indian Masters
etc.

Just as we say "U.S. Open" to distinguish it from the "British Open."

If I'm wrong, then I will fire the guy who told me that....
